3rd Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening

Sooo... Bobby had gone down to Pizza Planet, with the intent of getting himself a six-topping pizza.

Unfortunately they'd misheard his order and he ended up with six one topping pizzas. So... now he had way too much pizza than was humanly possible for one teenage boy to consume. Which is why it was stacked on a table in the common room, so that anyone could have some.

Please. Have some.

Bobby really doesn't want to be stuck eating leftover pizza for the next two weeks.

"Bobby! Did you get my phone message?"

"I did, dude," Bobby confirmed with a nod. "Sit down, have some pizza, and tell me how your date went."

Kyle didn't need a second invitation and dropped to the floor near Bobby. "I didn't know it was a date," he insisted.

"How do you go on a date and not know it was a date?" Bobby frowned.

"That Arthur guy on the radio said it was a date, but I didn't ask Hayley on a date. We walked to Groovy Tunes and she taught me about some music. That's all!" Monday's calmness was practically non-existent.

"Huh," Bobby thought about this. "So you just asked her out as friends?"

"I didn't ask her out anywhere," Kyle explained. "We were talking about music and I said I didn't know who Elvis was - he's the King of Rock N' Roll," he knew that now, even if he wasn't sure what counted as rock n' roll, "and she said I should know more. So I asked if she was offering to teach me, and she said yes and then we agreed to go to Groovy Tunes to find more music to hear."

Bobby admirably did not allow himself to get sidetracked by the whole Kyle not knowing who Elvis was thing. "Okay," he mused. "Was there food involved at any point?"

"No food," he confirmed.

"Okay, then that's... probably a point in the not a date column," Bobby informed him. "Unless she thought it was a date. In which case it was a date."

"She didn't say it was a date. Should I ask her if it was a date?"

"Yes," Bobby said, strangely confident for a guy who'd been on... one date ever. He totally knew about this stuff, though. "It's the only way to know for sure, dude."

Kyle sighed. "What if she says yes?"

"Then it was a date, and you have to figure out whether you wanna take her out again or not." Soooo helpful.

Kyle tried to smother himself with his hands. Or, more likely, he put his head in his hands. "Couldn't this have waited until the part in Sex Ed where they talk about this stuff?"

"See?" Bobby said pointedly. "Didn't we tell you? Girls make things weird."

"They don't seem weird until you get up close!"

"Exactly!" Bobby said with a knowing nod. "They're tricky, because there's all sorts of rules that I think girls are sort of... born knowing? But guys have to learn 'em."

"Like what?" Yes, he was totally cheating by asking another guy.

"Well, first there's the is-it-a-date thing. Guys have to rely on cues like if it involves obvious things like dinner or a movie. Girls can tell when it's a date even when it doesn't involve these things."
