the roof - monday midday - 9/14
Fiona didn't often come up here. For one, despite an uneven temperament, she wasn't much for 'emo'ing. For another, she was usually reasonably comfortable in her room. But today, she'd come up to the roof with her phone and a couple of books and had decided to make a time of it. The wind was actually sort of refreshing and there was something to being up here, sitting in the sun, that fit her mood for the day.
Which, her being her, was thoughtful for the moment.
Her call to Eliot went well, her call home went quickly, her call to her Uncle Henry involved a few soft laughs, her call to her Aunt Dallas was aborted quickly if only to save her from going pink, and her call to her Uncle Aaron was about the same as the last one with one small addition.
"You have other abilities, Fiona. Learn them, get comfortable with them, know their limits, or they'll be used against you someday."
...which was the most relaxing thing ever, of course.
Dad was a little better, but he kept asking about Griff and how she felt about him which was just weird and nothing she wanted to talk about with her dad. When he asked what his parents did and what his prospects for the future were, she gave him a quick goodbye, claimed she had to go (which wasn't strictly a lie, since she was reasonably sure she'd die of mortification soon enough) and closed the phone. Wuhf.
The books weren't nearly so stressful but she was almost hoping someone would come up and provide a little company.

That was because Eliot was awesome"Back home. The coven and the boyos are staying at the Hall for awhile, so Dujae is teaching them while they're there. Though I supposed he'll probably also keep teaching Jaenelle when they go." Karla sounded a little sad, yes. She loved Fandom, but she loved Kaeleer more.

Isn't he? *LUFFS ELIOT SO MUCH*"Miss home, huh?"
She could hear it.

"I really have to make sure Eliot can come during the Family Weekend thing. You should meet him."
And boggle his mind with how many pretty blond girls his sister seemed to know.

"I'm hoping Jaenelle will come to Family Weekend," Karla agreed, nodding. "Morton, too, but you know, he's just Morton."
Morton, however, would be glad to meet any pretty girls his cousin knew.

She started considering.
"I don't know who else should come. Other than 'not my mother.'"
