5th Floor Common Room -- Sunday Evening

She'd managed to forget that there was a party going on until late enough that she'd have felt sort of weird showing up—not to mention 'bout the fact that Ino was a bit weirded out by the idea of showing up at some strange grown-up's place for a party—and so, with her Santa hat perched jauntily on her head, she'd wandered into her common room to make hot chocolate.

It was totally seasonal. And so was the candy cane she was nibbling on. The candy was obviously the best part of this holiday, especially for someone who only had the vaguely concept of what the holiday entailed beyond 'shiny presents'.

But presents? Were pretty awesome too. She leaned against the counter and sipped her hot chocolate idly.

[Because I had to use this icon today, yes! Toootally open common room!]

"Good point," Jennifer said. "And then I can wear it on a day where I'm the only one rocking the floppy red felt look."

"Store people, sure," Jennifer said. "I meant more of the student body at large."

"See?" Jennifer said, chuckling. "Brat."

"Oh, this again?" Jennifer said. "When are you and Arthur tying the knot, again?"

Two could play the brat game.

"I wish you two the best," Jennifer said. "I'm sure you'll have tons of lovely, petulant children."

Jennifer was just laughing between sentences, now.

"Taking after their father," Jennifer said, quickly.

"I wasn't calling you petulant," Jennifer said. "Though I can imagine you as a little troublemaker when you were, well, little."

"Mine too," Jennifer said. "Well, up until when I told him I wanted to be a dancer."

"Well, good for you," Jennifer said. "Are you going home for the break?"

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2009-12-14 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh," Jennifer said. "Well, I'll be home for most of it. Have to spend the holidays with my dad, after all. Couldn't leave him alone for them."

"And feel guilty every minute I'm still here," Jennifer said. "Technically."

"Well, there really isn't a choice, given I don't want to be guilty and I love my dad," Jennifer said. "The other options aren't worth considering."
