Magic Reserves, Wednesday Afternoon, Preserve Near The Cabins
There were no biscuits today at the Magic Reserve. Oh no, none to be seen. Just in case people thought that they were trying to poison them before.
Instead there were brownies. With a very tasteful sign that proclaimed them purchased from J,GoB.
It was necessary.
"Hello and welcome to the Magic Reserve," Merlin started, looking around. "Whether you're new or--um--always been here. Welcome anyway! We're part of the other two reserves that you may have already heard about. but we deal with more, er, or the less physical aspects of fighting. Precognitive dreams, floating things about with our minds, writing things in the air or healing with spells. Everyone is welcome here."
He turned toward his fellow leaders to see what they had to add because, well, he wasn't the best at getting everything important into a speech. Unless it involved Arthur.
"Oh! And I'm Merlin, by the way."
See?
"I'm Tony," Tony said. "If you're new, you might come from somewhere where magic isn't allowed or isn't believed in. Fandom's different. We don't think you're evil or crazy, I promise. That said, it's up to you how much you want to share today."
Karla stepped forward and waved. "Hi, I'm Karla; thanks, by the way, to everyone who came out and supported the bake sale. Anyway, today we've got a few things planned. First off are introductions; yeah, it gets old, but knowing who we are and what we can do is important. So, name, age, whatever you're willing to share about your powers, and then anything else you'd like you add. We're not picky."
Then she pointed over to another table. This one had nothing on it save a candle and a lighter. "For our non-introduction activity, we're going to ask you light the candle. Any way can; any way you want. So let's start!"

Purely for academic purposes. But he was there.

"I don't think chocolate is good for you," she told Kennedy-the-hedgehog softly, but she didn't seem inclined to quit feeding her. Kennedy's fault for being so cute.

The fuzzy bunny in her arms did not eye the brownies. It just looked very, very grumpy.

Yes. He still hated introductions, why?
Light the Candle
Re: Light the Candle
and put up the post, so of course he was going to light the candle to let any new people know it was okay to use magic here."Bærne," He muttered, watching the wick flicker to life with a fire.
Re: Light the Candle
After fumbling through that, she was an anticlimactic dork about the candle part of it and used the lighter. She knew a fire spell, but it required a couple of extra elements she wasn't carrying, and she wasn't sure her control on it would be precise enough to light the wick and not a nearby tree, and her paranoia about getting it wrong kicked in.
She singed her thumbnail on the lighter for her trouble.
... Best witch ever. She quickly retreated to the fringes of the group.

He looked around, still not 100% convinced it was okay. Then he shrugged and disappeared in a puff of smoke, reappearing next to the candle. It took him a few tries to work the lighter, though, and he almost dropped it in his nervousness.

Girl holding fuzzy bunny. Girl not getting near fire. See previous sentence re: fuzzy bunny. "And um... I'll bake somebody cookies if they light the candle for me?"

"Candle," she called, and the candle appeared in her hand in a shower of white lights. "Lighter." After she had the lighter, she lit the candle and passed it on to the next person.
Re: Light the Candle
His hand went to his face. His fingers grabbed at the bandages and gave them a light pull.
Just enough flame to light the candle curled outward from where the bandages had been moved, and the instant the flame was lit, Jono was pulling the bandages up again, shoulders bunched a little, and he was making his way to the outskirts of the group again as though somebody had lit him on fire.
Re: Light the Candle
"I'm Arthur Pendragon," he announced. "I am nineteen years old and a senior. And I am not a wizard or a sorceror; I have no powers or magic in me. But I am a leader of the fighting reserve. If we are to manage anything at all, we must make an effort to understand each other, and to labour in the spirit of cooperation. And for that," he finished, cracking a slight grin, "You'll have to suffer my presence here every week. Thank you."
With that, he bowed out.
