5th floor common room - Morning

Jacob had woken up to a lot of snow, a powerless dormitory and a growling stomach. The latter two had cause a problem because cornflakes were just cornflakes and Jacob wanted to more. The blizzard hadn't caused much of an obstacle, not when you could change into a werewolf built to brave cold weather. He'd been across the island in a flash and while he'd gotten some strange looks for showing up in just a pair of jeans at J,GOB, the baker hadn't asked any questions. Which was once more evidence of how much the people on the island had gotten used to situations like this and luckily, the bakery had a back up generator. So Jacob had gotten a huge bag full of pastries for 'those poor students'. He suspected that J,GOB hadn't really been expecting a whole lot of customers.

So now, said bag had been upended on the dinner table. The bag itself had been thrown into the bin in Jake's room. It wouldn't do to have anyone take notice of the teeth marks on it. Jacob lay sprawled upon the couch in just a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, his hair still a little wet, while he munched on a muffin. In his boredom, he might just end up eating his way through the stack of food.

Best not to let him stay bored.

"You don't think that's just asking for trouble in an enclosed room?" wondered Bod, nibbling on the donut and blowing warm air into his hand as he did. "Evacuation due to fire in this weather might be deadly."

"They're just marshmallows," Jacob didn't see much harm in it. Then again, he wasn't that good at seeing harm in something. "You're not going to put them on fire and toss them across the room."

"Accidents happen," replied Bod, shrugging one thin shoulder inside his sweater. "Why are you up this early? Did you not sleep?"

Jacob wondered if this meant he'd stopped snoring or if Bod had just gotten used to it already. "I slept, not until noon but I did," he said, wondering if he really was that lazy. Which was quite a feat for him. "I dunno, just woke up and got hungry. Why are you up?"

"I could hear the wind," he said, glancing back out towards the window. The trees were bending and swaying. Winters in England didn't tend to get this bad. The temperatures were cold, sometimes even freezing, but this was new. "It woke me up. Once I woke up, it was cold enough that I knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. Staying in a powerless room would have been boring after awhile so I wandered out to see if anyone else was up. And here you are."

Jacob nodded. "It's looking pretty bad out there," he had to agree. "Too bad there's no television. I guess we're going to have to entertain ourselves. Hopefully it won't be too long."

"Are you going to entertain me?" joked Bod, nestling down into the chair and trying to stay warm. "You look like you're warmer than I am."

"Blizzards aren't that uncommon in Washington," Jacob said. "And the fire's pretty nice."

He glanced at Bod and smirked. "Hey, I brought the food. You get to entertain me."

"I'm the one that's cold," he said, gesturing to Jacob's current ensemble. "You look like this is a chilly autumn day. My form of entertainment would involve chattering teeth and chilly hands."

"Then you're doing it wrong," Jacob shook his head as if he felt for his poor roomie. "You could warm up a lot if you actually moved around. I don't know, do some dance tricks or something."

"I am not dancing for you," Bod said, laughing. "That might serve the purpose of warming me but it would also make you laugh hysterically."

"Exactly, I'd be entertained and you'd be warm. What's so wrong with that?" Jake asked.

"I'm not dancing for your entertainment," he said, shaking his head. "I think I'd rather be cold. Especially now that I know you'd enjoy it. I'd rather shiver and eat your donuts."

"I could take the donuts away and let you just shiver," Jacob threatened. Not that he would, that'd require effort. He'd already done plenty for today.

"If you're that desperate for entertainment, I think I'd be worried," Bod decided, shaking his head. "And if that is the case, I'd recommend taking another jog outside. It might help you out some."

Jake made a face at him. "Nah, already did once. I think I'm good for the rest of the day."

Until it got near dinner time and he wanted to find out if the pizza place was open. Mmmm pizza.

"Then I think you're going to have to make due with some conversation however cold it might be," he decided. "I'm not engaging enough?"

"I think you could put in an effort and do better," Jacob said seriously.

Bod leveled Jacob with a bemused look and laughed. "You're quite demanding, aren't you?"

Jake snapped his fingers together. "Now you're getting it," he said with a wolfish grin.

"What's in it for me?" wondered Bod. "Why would I do something without any sort of payment in return?"

If Jacob would be demanding, Bod could be opportunistic. He'd learned that over time.

"Seriously, what part of me getting you all food don't you get?" Jacob asked, because really, it was a blizzard out there.

"You did but that wasn't done with me solely in mind, was it?" asked Bod. He was certain Jacob hadn't woken with the thought of getting him breakfast. "So using that excuse seems flawed."

Technically, he hadn't since it was the baker that'd had given him all the food. Not that it mattered.

"So you can only be grateful for something done only for you?" Jake asked.

"I didn't say that. I was just pointing out the flaw in your reasoning," said Bod, half smiling. "I couldn't help myself."
