Support Services: First Floor Lobby, Friday after classes

If it looked like there were a lot more cookies and treats around this week than usual, well, that was because there were. The girls figured everyone deserved a bit of a reward after last weekend.

"We seem to have survived the attack of gremlins very well, and Francine and I would like to thank all of you who came and offered support over the weekend," Morgana said. "Caritas might not have been the ideal location we imagined finding ourselves in, but I think we managed well enough. We thought we'd take this week to talk about how things went for all of you. Did you learn anything? Is there something that worked or didn't work that we should remember in the future? For example, I think having places for people to lie down to rest might be a good idea." Whether or not they could get certain people to lie down was another issue entirely, but at least the option would be there. "What else can we take from this experience?"

Dinah was only nibbling, because she was heading to 'Dite's to help with clean-up very soon. Running around in class had gotten her appetite up, though.

Claire nibbled on a cookie.

What worked? What didn't work? Should we tie the injured people down next time?

"I don't really know what worked," Claire admitted. "I spent most of my time out killing gremlins and never made it down to Caritas. But I wonder if it would make sense for us to split our resources and have two first aid stations. One in the dorms and one in town."

"We certainly have the resources to split," Morgana said. "Our concern this time was that the dorms weren't safe with so many gremlins sneaking in. Perhaps we could have made a safe space though."

Claire nodded. "Maybe some of the magic people could have put up a spell or something to keep them up?"

She really had no idea.

"That could take a lot of work," Morgana said. "But we do have very powerful magicians on our side. It could certainly be something to consider."

"Or we could station a few fighty types outside to make a safe room," Claire suggested.

"My only concern with that is that they always seem to want to be out fighting," Morgana said with a laugh. "I'm not sure what we'd have to do to convince people to stay and be guards."

Morgana had limited herself to one cookie, and was seriously considering how they could force people to rest the next time something went wrong.

Jacob wasn't considering much besides the cookies and possibly Morgana too. He wasn't in the reserves, so he didn't have to!

"My Lady," he was going to even do a bow there. Look at him being a gentleman. "You look dashing this evening." Afternoon. Whatever.

"You really are too kind," Morgana said with a laugh, although she perked up a little at the compliment as well. "I don't suppose you learned anything this weekend?"

"Run faster if someone tries to shoot you?" he suggested. Because go back to eat and rest was not on his list. "What did you learn?"

"That not all animals on the island are dangerous," she said. "And that the boys here are the epitome of stubborn."

Animal was a step up from monster, right? Not that he entirely agreed with the not being dangerous part.

"Who crossed you?" he was going to sneakily snag a cookie now. Except that it wasn't very sneaky at all.

"Arthur refused to rest," Morgana said. "He acts as though the safety of the entire island rests on his shoulders. It's frustrating to watch."

"It's easier not to rest than something bad happening and knowing you could have stopped it somehow," Jacob reasoned, he was possibly not the best person to see reason here.

"And if not resting impairs your judgment and gets you hurt?" Morgana asked. "What then?"

"That's a risk he's willing to make," he made it sound so simple, really.

Which earned him another cookie, no?

"Perhaps, but that doesn't mean I have to accept it," Morgana said. She did gave Jacob another cookie though, before he gave her puppy eyes or something.

That got her a bright smile as he took the cookie from her. "Unless you're planning on knocking him out, I don't think it's going to change a whole lot."
