Karla figured that she really out to try watching these Olympics things, now that she had a reason to care what was happening. She should probably figure out what 'curling' was, for example. Same thing for the 'luge.'

When she turned on the teevee, her attention was immediately grabbed by the ice dancing. Between this and hockey, Karla decided she could really get behind the Olympics. They kind of reminded her of home.

Kurt blinked at her. "Well, it's... I mean, it's... Ach! It just IS, okay?"

Totally convincing, there.

"I guess maybe something's a sport if you can compete against other people in it," he grumbled.

Karla pointed towards the teevee. "They're competing," she argued, more confused than convinced he was wrong.

From Karla's vantage, everyone here knew more about how these things worked than she did.

"I was admitting maybe you're right!" Kurt protested. "It just isn't in the same league as hockey, you know?"

"No, I really don't," Karla admitted, looking apologetic. "I don't understand most of this stuff. It's all so new to me."
