Second Floor Common Room, Friday Night

Karla figured that she really out to try watching these Olympics things, now that she had a reason to care what was happening. She should probably figure out what 'curling' was, for example. Same thing for the 'luge.'

When she turned on the teevee, her attention was immediately grabbed by the ice dancing. Between this and hockey, Karla decided she could really get behind the Olympics. They kind of reminded her of home.

"Karlaaaaaa," Bobby greeted, flopping down on a couch with a good view of the television. "What's up?"

"Hey Bobby," Karla said, dragging her eyes away from the pretty, pretty ice skating. "I'm learning about the Olympics! They're amazing!"

"I know, right?" Bobby grinned. The skating he could take or leave, but at least it wasn't curling. "I'm hoping they'll at least recap the skiing from earlier today, though. Or else I'm gonna have to go look on the internet for results."

"Hey Bobby!" Kurt greeted him. "We should do something like this in Hockey Club, ja?"

"What, the dancing?" Bobby wrinkled his nose. "Somehow I don't think most of the guys would go for it," he pointed out.

Kurt was all excited about the Olympics, and he carried his bowl of popcorn up and down the stairs until he found a common room where people were watching it.

...What was actually ON at the moment was a little disappointing, though. "Das is not a SPORT!" he complained. "It's a TALENT SHOW!"

"Hey, it takes a lot of skill to do this stuff!" Karla protested. "The fact that it also happens to be pretty is a happy coincidence."

"I didn't say it didn't!" Kurt protested. "It's hard, and they're very, very good at it! But does it really belong in the Olympics???"

"So, you're against dance marathons?"

"Of course not!" Kurt answered. "Absolutely nothing against them! Or people competing and getting prizes for them. Just not an Olympic gold!"

Elena was bored, and there seemed to be people here. So.

"I thought ice skating had more jumps in it," she said, frowning at the screen in mild confusion.

"Elena!" Karla said, looking up with a grin. "Kiss kiss! I owe you a cake!"

"Hi!" Elena said. "You do? What do I get a cake for?"

Her birthday was in October, so it couldn't be that.

Not that she was going to turn down cake.

"It's ice DANCING," Kurt told her. "TOTALLY different thing."

"Seems like," Elena said, glancing at the screen again. "They're still wearing tacky outfits, though."

Some things never changed, apparently?

"I think this is the other one?" Bobby said with a shrug. "The dancing one, or whatever."

"Less chance of a spectacular wipeout?" Elena asked. "That one last night had lots of people falling flat on their asses. Something about their quads."

She'd been watching, but only really half-paying attention. She was kinda new to this whole Olympics deal.

Leda was bored. She couldn't even work up the motivation to go riding around recklessly on her bike. Maybe doing something other than lying around in her room would help.

Oh look, people, and wow something kinda sexy going on on TV.

"Whazis?"

"Ice dancing," Karla informed her. She was practically an expert now! "It's ummm...dancing. On ice."

Leda had probably figured that out.

Leda watched for a moment, a slight smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "That looks pretty hot, Dot."

This whole not training thing left Rose slightly on edge and losing her temper in class made her more so. That plus not really being sleepy led to one solution. Food and Common Rooms.

"Way too many sequins," she commented dismissively as she headed into the kitchen. Skeleton should be on. She needed t try that someday.

"That guy totally has the right to be a pretty, pretty princess if he wants," Elena said, waving to Rose.

"Hey, I was talking about the chick," Rose said, waving back. "But if you want a princess, you should have one."

Not Lissa though. She was claimed.

Karla glanced over to Rose and rolled her eyes immediately. Oh. Her. Fabulous.

Then, frowning, she caught something odd in the other girl's psychic scent. It was almost like a...flicker of darkness?

Rose glared as she noticed the frown. "If your face freezes like that, it might be an improvement," she said, a little less bite in there than there usually might be.
