Sixth Floor, Wednesday evening

Dinah had put up a few posters in stairwells - PARTY ON SIXTH FLOOR, ROY'S LATE 18th BIRTHDAY! - this morning on the way to work. She had a cake that had arrived special delivery from Alfred early today (with buttercream icing and chocolate ganache to die for inside), ice cream that she'd picked up a while back, and some silver and gold foil balloons and noisemakers scattered around the room.

Plus, of course, there was the ball pit.

Being inside eating cake and goodies was a lot better than being out in a fog with imaginary and real monsters in it.

[open, wait for the OCD teeny OCD is up!]

"Why would I not be in one piece?" Roy said, sounding kind of indignant. But there was cake, so, you know, it didn't last long. "Cake!"

"Well, yeah, I know there are," Roy said. He just sort of, you know, figured he could handle them. Because he was a boy, and a superhero on top of that.

Exactly! Roy could totally add it to his list of thing he'd shot! "I used to own a gas mask," he said thoughtfully.

Of course, it was probably still hanging in his locker at Titans Tower...

"Of course," Roy said. Heck, he might even have to break radio silence to brag at Dick.
