Sixth Floor, Wednesday evening

Dinah had put up a few posters in stairwells - PARTY ON SIXTH FLOOR, ROY'S LATE 18th BIRTHDAY! - this morning on the way to work. She had a cake that had arrived special delivery from Alfred early today (with buttercream icing and chocolate ganache to die for inside), ice cream that she'd picked up a while back, and some silver and gold foil balloons and noisemakers scattered around the room.

Plus, of course, there was the ball pit.

Being inside eating cake and goodies was a lot better than being out in a fog with imaginary and real monsters in it.

There's cake and ice cream and non-alcoholic drinks. And chips and dip and maybe some chocolates.

Cake was good. Priestly was a fan of cake, especially cake that meant a lot of people wouldn't be out in the Fog of Doom.

He was here, chilling on the sidelines, and pondering the various uses of a good noisemaker.

Dinah was a fan of cake too, and had a slice set aside special in the fridge for Roy, a huge one... and a pretty big slice for herself, too. Hey, she needed it.

"Got your book of surprises," she said, wandering over to flop down next to Priestly, and handed over a spiral-bound notebook in its own clear case. "Guard them with your life, or Alfred will demand yours."

Hayley wandered up and just sort of stared at the cake.

Poor girl was going to have cake trauma for some time.

Dinah gave her a look, then gave the cake a mystified look, then blinked. "... there's ice cream?"

Yeah, she was remembering cake too.

Bruce figured he would show up to pay his respects to Roy even if he had a broken droid baby to take care of, a bird girlfriend to watch, and a mysterious fog to investigate.

This was not going to be a lengthy party appearance for Bruce, obviously.

"Hey, Bruce. Good to see you," Dinah said, surprised but pleased. And *almost* not weirded out any more. "Roy's not here yet, but there's cake!"

Momoko had headed happily up the stairs to the 6th floor. Miss a birthday party? Never!

She was here, mingling and possibly staring longingly at the ball pit. Or the cake. Ok, both.

Bobby had noticed the posters after he and Warren had arrived back in the dorms after their little adventure.

Hopefully he'd be forgiven for not heading up to the sixth floor right away, though. He figured that the other party-goers would probably appreciate him not being pantsless.

Roy was A) still kind of embarrassed that Dinah had insisted on making a big deal of his birthday and B) astonished that he hadn't realized the dorm had a ball pit before now, but he was still happy to be here.

Even if he did kind of want to get out in that fog and see if he could shoot a dinosaur thing. It was his thing.
