Sixth Floor, Wednesday evening

Dinah had put up a few posters in stairwells - PARTY ON SIXTH FLOOR, ROY'S LATE 18th BIRTHDAY! - this morning on the way to work. She had a cake that had arrived special delivery from Alfred early today (with buttercream icing and chocolate ganache to die for inside), ice cream that she'd picked up a while back, and some silver and gold foil balloons and noisemakers scattered around the room.

Plus, of course, there was the ball pit.

Being inside eating cake and goodies was a lot better than being out in a fog with imaginary and real monsters in it.

Momoko wasn't sure, but the way he was saying it made it seem like it had something to do with being from a different version of Dinah's world, so she just nodded. "Ah! Well, that's okay. He still made a good cake just for you!"

Knowing people from different versions of the same world was totally confusing.
