Fifth Floor Common Room [evening]

Puck lounged on a sofa, a few boxes of Chinese food before him, as he flipped aimlessly through channels before finally settling on VH1 to watch the Top 100 Worst Songs ever, or something.

He wasn't all that interested, honestly, but it was something to have on in the background while he conducted a little experiment he called, "Does food really attract cute girls people to common rooms?"

Puck being Puck, cooking was out of the question unless everyone wanted something flambé. So he had purposely gotten way more food than he would normally eat (though, you know, it was Chinese food. He'd still eat it in an hour if no one showed.) and set in to wait. Meanwhile, some horrible band with frizzy hair squalled away on the television.

When they'd come with her take out at home, they'd been used primarily to spear chunks of meat and subtly throw them at Tony when she got bored during family dinners.

"We usually go the tried and tested 'fork and knife' route," she said, finding herself a place to sit. "Such heathens."

"Pretty much what I found they were good for." Though generally she ended up stuck across the table and couldn't stab, so... Improvisation.

"Go on then. Masterclass me."

"That mean you've tried?" she asked, teasing just a little, and snagging some chopsticks to play with and eventually balance in some useful way.

Effy breathed a slight laugh. "Oops." That'd probably teach you to do it right. "Even I'm not shit enough at this to do that to you."

And he'd probably appreciate the fact she wasn't feeling the need to start a food fight.

"Wouldn't want to hurt your delicate feelings." It might not sound much like it, with her tone always tending towards sarcasm and all. But truthfully, there was probably something of that in there.

"I have some morals." Yeah, some.

"Some," she repeated with a twitch of a grin.

"Haven't figured out I'm not shit and boring enough to have lots?"

Puck had probably just hit on Effy's absolute polar opposite. Which, funnily enough, amused her no end.

"Is that what you think?" she wondered. Enjoying keeping hold of her mystery factor for now, yeah.

"Haven't been to church in years," she said, and paused only briefly before tucking her chopsticks back into a container to dip her fingers into her shirt and produce a cigarette case. Opening that proved a no on the substance-fearing. "Got tossed from my last school for screwing someone on a teacher's desk."

"And Frances is a shit name." So was Elizabeth, in her opinion, but... details.

"Too bad." Effy smirked, and tucked the case back away again. Not quite stupid enough to actually start smoking up spliff in a common room. "And no, it isn't."

Which didn't mean she was going to tell him what it was when it was so fun to hold onto her mystery.

"Georgiana." Really? "It's like you've been reading Mills and Boon."
