The Sixth Floor, Friday Afternoon (Pre-Dance)

Once again, Emma had taken over the sixth floor, setting-up spots for hair and make-up, as well as making sure there were lots of snacks to munch on while people got ready. She was 'helped' in all this by a terrier puppy who was running around, supervising all the details.

After all, so many of the people at Fandom were completely hopeless when it came to things like this. It was her civic duty to try and at least prevent people from embarrassing themselves.

[OOC: Post is open to all the girls in the dorms! No, no boys allowed (EXCEPT THE AUTHORIZED CRASHER WHO KNOWS WHO HE IS). If you seriously annoy Emma, she will brain-zap your butt back downstairs, and you will hiccup uncontrollably for the rest of the night. ETA: UP. FINALLY. I'm around on SP until 6CST, and then AFK until 11ish.]

Karla hopped up to give Triela a hug. She also knew the discomfort of showing way too much leg. "You look gorgeous," she whispered in her ear. "Very grown up."

Triela smiled a bit in spite of herself.

"Thank you. And you look..." Well. Less formal?

"Like I'm not going?" Karla said, impishly. "I'm not. Underclassmen strictly univited." She laughed a bit. "I'm here to soak up all the glamour second-hand, and watch some of my very bestest friends surprise themselves with how beautiful they are." She gave Triela a knowing look. "Because they are, you know."

A snort and an eyeroll were, perhaps, predictable responses there.

"Uh huh. And you're totally jealous of us and everything."

"Dreadfully so," she said, flopping backwards in her pretty but comfortable buttondown shirt and knee-length skirt. "I've missed out on hours of concern over what to wear, how to style my hair, and what to do about makeup. Just dreadful really." She laughed a bit and added, "I'd have liked to have gone, but only because so many of my friends are. It would be nice to spend the evening with all of you. But I have other plans, since you're all busy."

"I'd offer to trade with you, but..." Orders.

"I'm good," Karla promised. "I wouldn't trade even if we could. I've got plans, like I said." Plan that involved her wearing a big, stupid grin, apparently.

"Plans, huh?" Triela repeated, eying that smile. "And what do these plans of your involve?"

"Well, let's see," Karla said innocently. "The beach, a picnic, a cake, some presents..."

Someone thought she was cute, apparently.

"Oh, you got me presents?" Triela asked just a bit coyly. "That's so nice."

"Sorry," Karla said, shaking her head regretfully. "The gifts are part of a strictly no-prom-goers event."

"Oh. Well, I guess I can't give you anything either, then..."

How sad.

"Not tonight," Karla said quickly. Triela looked far too amused to not have something to back that up. "But there's always the rest of the weekend, you know."

"I don't know... it might be too late." It might be a perishable gift, after all.

"I suppose I'll just have to find someone else to give it to..."

"It couldn't be too perishable," Karla objected. "You didn't bring it with you, right? So you couldn't have been planning to give it to me tonight."

"Maybe I was going to find you later on tonight," Triela countered.

"After the prom got out?" Karla challenged. "Perhaps I was going to be sleeping, like a good witch."

Triela snorted in amusement. "Yeah. But only if you're some impostor. I don't think anyone's ever accused Karla of being a good witch."

"Hey now," Karla said. "I am a very good witch," she argued. "Just not a well-behaved one."

"Hmm... I suppose..." Triela smirked. "And so you're going to bed early tonight, huh?"

"Maaaaaaybe," Karla said, returning Triela's smirk. "It depends on how my picnic goes. Early tomorrow morning is still early, isn't it?"

"Ooooh," Triela grinned. "So being good isn't even on your radar tonight, now is it."

The teasing was genuine, but it sounded ever so slightly as if it was by rote. Triela didn't... well, she didn't understand that kind of thing. But she knew what you were supposed to say, so...

Neither had Karla, really. Not until Fandom and the sex pollen. And that had been without a cocktail of drugs in her system, keeping her controlled.

"Carefully measured and regulated naughtiness," Karla replied merrily. "Mostly good with just a smidgen of bad, I think. That'll be enough for me, I think."

The grin broadened.

"Have fun, then, Karla."

"And feel free to threaten him with me if he gets too naughty." Triela was pretty good at intimidating, after all.

"Shall I assume the only threat you feel is appropriate is, 'Try anything and I let Triela loose on you?'" Karla asked, snickering.
