The Sixth Floor, Friday Afternoon (Pre-Dance)

Once again, Emma had taken over the sixth floor, setting-up spots for hair and make-up, as well as making sure there were lots of snacks to munch on while people got ready. She was 'helped' in all this by a terrier puppy who was running around, supervising all the details.

After all, so many of the people at Fandom were completely hopeless when it came to things like this. It was her civic duty to try and at least prevent people from embarrassing themselves.

[OOC: Post is open to all the girls in the dorms! No, no boys allowed (EXCEPT THE AUTHORIZED CRASHER WHO KNOWS WHO HE IS). If you seriously annoy Emma, she will brain-zap your butt back downstairs, and you will hiccup uncontrollably for the rest of the night. ETA: UP. FINALLY. I'm around on SP until 6CST, and then AFK until 11ish.]

"Pretty sure he's just goin' in his black uniform," she said, with the faintest of emphasis on the word 'black'. "He knows I don't mind the lack of a suit and he cleans up really nice in it."

Ino mulled that over.

"Men in uniform are generally hotter anyway."

"He made First?" Elena asked, catching the color and darting a quick glance over at Ino. There was something to that, wasn't there? It was all before her time, but some of the details had slipped out. This required further investigation. She blinked, and looked away again, trying to hide her interest. "I'll have to congratulate him, next time I see him. Are we including black suits as uniforms? If so, I agree wholeheartedly."

"He did," she said, shrugging and studying Elena absently. "Ain't like it's a secret though. The moment you'd have seen him, you'd have know."

The rest of it, though, Ino was keeping her mouth shut on. Not her thing to spread around idly.

"I dunno," Ino added cheerfully, "are the black suits worn everyday in this case? I think that makes them uniforms."

"They are," Elena said, "to varying degrees of 'worn.' Reno never wears his right, and I'd think Tseng sleeps in his except then it'd be wrinkled."

Nicely sidestepping the rest of the mess. She'd have to check in on Zack. After she'd done a little digging of her own.

"I think that counts," she decided, "there's nothing against having individual touches to a uniform. Reno is just... creative."

Or something!

"And do you think it'd be possible to sleep in a suit and not wrinkle it?" Ino was going to have to think about that. "Maybe if you slept standing up?"

"I've also wondered if maybe Tseng just doesn't sleep," Elena admitted, eyes dancing. "Maybe if you could lay perfectly still, you wouldn't wrinkle it. But you'd have to wake up every few minutes and change position, just so there wouldn't be creases, wouldn't you?"

"Some suits are advertised as being resistant to creases," she said dubiously. "But I don't think they'd last a night of sleeping--even if you didn't go under the blankets, just laying on them would probably defeat the 'resistant' bit and... who sleeps perfectly still?"

"...Maybe he doesn't sleep, at that."

"I bet he's a vampire," Elena said lightly. "No, he can't be, I've seen him in daylight. I'd say zombie but those usually smell bad."

She shook her head. "Suits are too uncomfortable to get good sleep in, anyway."

Not that the occasions when she'd had to grab naps in one were all that cozy to start, so perhaps that wasn't a fair assessment.

"You wouldn't want him to be a vampire or a zombie anyway," Ino noted. "One drinks blood the other wants to eat your brains. Totally not appealing. I mean, there's putting your life on the line for your boss and then there's that, which... ew."

"I guess that leaves someone who doesn't need sleep? Maybe there's a specific sort of name for someone like that? Insomniac doesn't work, 'cause they need sleep and can't get it..."

"Vampires at least have an erotic thing going," Elena said. What? She wasn't into Vincent, but she could at least see where it was coming from.

... okay, Vincent wasn't a vampire, but he sure seemed like he wanted people to think he was.

"I think the name is 'workaholic,'" she added. "I'm amazed he hasn't burned out yet. Does your group have someone like that?"

She did not exactly know how to refer to an organized team of ninja, so 'group' would have to suffice.
