3rd Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

Bobby and his three pints of ice cream were not sulking about this whole goodbye business, really. He was just... adequately prepared for the Really Strong Guy Who Can Fly movie marathon that was on television at the moment.

There were also several containers of Chinese food, because clearly the obvious remedy for people-leaving emo (not that he had any of that, really) was to attract people with the use of food.

[ooc: I survived my first day back at the job I loathe! Yay? Post open!]

Roy smelled food.

And hey, look, Bobby! "'Mano! How's it going?"

Roy always kind of wondered why Clark didn't sue the people who made these movies, actually, but he went for, "Oh, God, these total ripoffs?" because that was less blindingly obvious.

"Maybe not to you," Roy said thoughtfully. "But where I come from? Total ripoffs. There's this, uh, actual guy. Superman?"

Sookie certainly wasn't a little gloomy herself, nope. Though, really, this week sucked, pardon her language. So she'd traipsed down a couple flights of stairs in search of something to eat and hopefully company. And luckily, she not only found food, but one of her favorite people!

Who, admittedly, looked a bit blue himself. "You better be sharing," she teased, wandering in to perch beside him.

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I know," she agreed, "but in the name of my lack of starvation, you'd help a girl out?"

...because Sookie clearly would not be able to find food anywhere else. Ever. At all.

"Much appreciated," she said, curling up on the couch and snagging a carton. "I'd have to resort to drastic measures, otherwise."

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
"I was mostly thinking I'd start withholding cake, on my end," she mused. "And then maybe dressing you in a tiny sailor suit next time you're a penguin."

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
"I know," she said seriously. "That's why I try to use my powers for good, and why you should always share with me. That, and because sharing is nice and also I would be really sad otherwise."

"Sad Bobbies aren't high on my list, personally," Sookie noted, reaching out to lightly touch his arm. "You're okay?"

She could totally tell he wasn't. Shielding or not, she could usually get a pretty decent emotional vibe, at least. Plus, you know, it was Bobby. Telepathy aside, she could read him pretty well.

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Awesome telepathic girlfriend who can tell when you're lying," Sookie amended, scooting a little closer, "but okay. You know I'm here if you need anything. What're we watching?"

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
"I've seen this!" Sookie said, eyes lighting up. "They're based on some guy? Weird. They exist at home for me, too." Hush, she got excited when people watched things that were twelve or so years old and she recognized her. Lord help everyone if they ever watched that movie with the boat. "But I guess that makes sense. If telepaths and mutants and vampires and angels and all are real, then I guess it stands that maybe this guy is, too, in someone's universe."

"Catchy," she said with a nod. "I wonder if it's like, in the superhero credo that you have to have a neat name like that. It's a million times better than 'Rogue,'" she added, slanting a look at him. She personally thought 'Iceman' was kind of cute and descriptive, but she wasn't about to point that out in the middle of a common room.

"...Stilt-Man," Sookie repeated skeptically. "Really? Someone thought that was a good idea?"

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
"...because banks are so tall?" Sookie also had no idea how the two were connected. She considered, and added, "Maybe he just really likes stilts!"

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Coming from you, that's saying something," Sookie noted, raising a brow.

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
"No, sweetie, I meant the normal people logic thing," she said, immediately contrite. "I'm not sure you'd know normal people's logic if it came up and kissed you."

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
"That is very true," she agreed. "But I'm not sure normal people, y'know, sit around and think about things like kangaroo sign language and trampolines." She paused, and added, "So I fall under that umbrella, too."

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
Sookie smiled in a totally, totally dorky way, and curled a little closer. "I like having non-normal logic with you," she decided. "It's way more interesting, anyway."

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Much as I'd like to be normal in other ways," Sookie mused, "I can honestly say our weird way of thinking makes us way more interesting than...oh, about eighty-five percent of the population. In my experience."

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Informally," she said seriously. "For about...oh, sixteen and a half or so years. My data's pretty conclusive."

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Spreadsheets, but I can make charts," she decided randomly.

[identity profile] justwantsquiet.livejournal.com 2010-05-06 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Which I could then make into actual pies," she mused, tilting her head in thought.
