Third Floor Common Room [Wednesday evening]

Jaime had mostly nursed his headache from Monday into something reasonable, so now he was ready to do something. Anything, really. As long as it didn't involve lying around in his room.

Fortunately, there was a common room. And Jaime knew how to bake. At the moment he was whipping up three different cookie recipes at once. Not that he was planning to eat three entire batches of cookies on his own, of course. But this was Fandom, and he was in a common room.

He figured he'd have help.

Jaime managed to muster up a smile at that. "I'm sure, but she didn't have me... Where will she get her cookies!"

He was teasing now because... what else could he do?

Ah, he was smiling again! "If she's got the same agreement back home as me, there's a bakery at the foot of the hill from the lab and she can have all she can eat, whenever she wants."

She waved at her plate, now piled high. "Unlike me, who had to wait a whole week."

"And it seems like you've been saving up space for it all," Jaime laughed reaching out to poke Momoko playfully in the stomach.

"Eeek, no!" She backed away, mock pout firmly in place. "And I was starving, I had to wait so long!"

"Starving, huh? I thought I heard your stomach rumbling." Well, not really, but whatever.

[heromaniac]

"Eh?!" For a brief moment she believed him and looked down, placing a hand on her stomach in embarrassment.

But then she narrowed her eyes and increased the level on her pout. "Mean Jaime! Now I'm going to take even more cookies!"

"Aha!" Jaime exclaimed. "So you're the cookie thief!"

"Waaah! No way! Who squealed?!"

[weldedtomyspine]

"I have an eye witness!"

You know. Himself. He was, in fact, eying her plate.

"They're totally lying!" She followed his eyes to her plate and moved it behind her back. "Eep! These were mine all along!"

"Were they? So you're saying that your cookies were never stolen in the first place?"

Ha! Get out of that one, Momoko!

"The ones on the bottom of the plate totally were?"

Ha!

[weldedtomyspine]

"Oh, they were, were they?" Jaime asked, Very Doubtfully.

"Why do I suspect you're trying to trick me?"

[heromaniac]

Hmm. He seemed doubtful. She swallowed a grin.

"I have no idea," Momoko deadpanned. "No idea at all. Are you suggesting I am?"

"Am I suggesting you're a mischievous little trouble maker?" Jaime mused thoughtfully. "You know... maybe I am."

[heromaniac]

"I'm not little." She held her hand above her head. "So your whole theory is wrong! I'm obviously innocent!"

"True... You could totally be a professional wrestler with your huge height and muscles!"

[heromaniac]

"Ha! No way!" She grinned. "My friend Kaoru? Her dad already is a professional wrestler! He's nice but really weird. So are all of his friends."

Jaime laughed because that had to be a joke.

Right?

[heromaniac]

No. No joke.

Momoko nodded. "I've been to one of his matches! They have crazy costumes and, well, like, her dad? He only takes off his mask when he's in the shower! How weird, right? It's something about a wrestler's code or an oath to a dying coach or something, but it's totally weird."

[weldedtomyspine]

"Wait," Jaime stopped laughing to eye Momoko suspiciously. "Really?"

[heromaniac]

She nodded. "Really! I'll show you a picture next time we're in my room. Matsubara-san's mask isn't as weird as some of them, but it's still totally creepy to never see someone's face."

[weldedtomyspine]

"But it's not like he has a secret identity or anything," Jaime pointed out. "So... he's like a luchalibra wrestler?" With the mask and all.

[heromaniac]

"Oh, no. He's a wrestler, not a hero. I mean, we all know he's Kaoru's dad!" She frowned. "Is that what they're called? It's always just been 'wrestling' when they talk about it."

"Well, I'm guessing," Jaime admitted. "But masks are a luchalibra thing, usually."
