Main Campfire | Wednesday Night | 5.26.2010

Peter didn't particularly want to gather a crowd, but making a campfire and tossing black snakes and firecrackers at it seemed particularly amusing today.

So yeah, there was definitely a bit of noise. Peter wasn't a blossoming pyro or anything, he was just a bored teenager. Anyone was definitely welcome to join him. He might even have some moddable extra bits of fireworks.

"Not as much as I'd like," Jack said. "I'm TA for Professor Mitchell, and I work in the law offices Thursdays. The rest of my time is almost all free." Except for his online courses, but those were boring to discuss. "What about you?"

Jack shook his head. "I go home at the break to get ready for university. There's a class on Blending In? How is it?"

He didn't think he needed it -- he probably could have taught it -- but he mourned the lost opportunity all the same.

"They do feed us well here," Jack said, and eyed Kyle speculatively. "What kind of tactics do you want? I was raised to be a detective, so I might be of some help."

Kyle frowned in thought. "How to follow someone without them knowing. How to fit into a crowd, like on a street or something, if you don't know where you are or what you're doing. Things like that."

Jack's face went serious. "I can do that," he said. "Well, my following's a bit wobbly, but I've done it. Though this isn't the best place for a tutorial. Would you like one?"

"Saturday is better," Kyle said, thinking of his ice cream agreement with Ben on Friday. Then something came to mind. "If we go Saturday, I have an order I should pick up. I could use a lookout," he said, suggesting from his expression that it wasn't an order from Sears. "Interested?"

Jack straightened, clearly very interested indeed. It had been a while since he had any real work to occupy himself with. "Very much so," he said. "Tell me more about it when things are a bit quieter."

There were squirrels about, not to mention half a dozen classmates, one of whom was a telepath. Jack's curiosity could wait.
