Main Campfire | Wednesday Night | 5.26.2010

Peter didn't particularly want to gather a crowd, but making a campfire and tossing black snakes and firecrackers at it seemed particularly amusing today.

So yeah, there was definitely a bit of noise. Peter wasn't a blossoming pyro or anything, he was just a bored teenager. Anyone was definitely welcome to join him. He might even have some moddable extra bits of fireworks.

"Absolutely," Peter said, gesturing at the small pile of low-grade fireworks. "In fact, most of these you can just throw at the fire and everything will go just fine."

"As long as you promise the risk of losing a finger is low," she said with a smile, gingerly picking up a firework, flinging it at the fire, and scooting back a bit as she did it.

"The finger thing only happens if you've made a fist around one of these and then set it off," Peter said. "A tiny explosion is still an explosion. You contain it, and bad things happen."

"It's sad how many people I know who'd do that," she commented thoughtfully. "Including my brother. Who's almost nineteen."

"So you got all the brains in your family?" Peter joked. "I'm an only child, myself. So I don't have any less-than-bright siblings to deal with. And see? It's easy. And fun, if you happen to like bright lights and loud noises."

"I got all the brains -- such as they are -- and Jason got the charm and confidence. You're lucky to be an only child, I think," Sookie agreed, nodding as she plucked up another firework. "This is fun. Loud noises aside, they're pretty."

"I wouldn't say all the charm," Peter commented, because he was a boy and he had eyes. "But luck has nothing to do with it. With how often Walter was around when I was young, not that I remember much of it, I'm amazed my mother actually ever had the chance to conceive one child."

"We're not close," Peter said. "At least, we weren't. Ever since I arrived here it seems like he's suddenly actually interested in having a son again."

"I might," Peter said, comfortable enough with Sookie to talk about this with her. "He's got a lot of ground to recover. But I suppose a second chance isn't out of the question."

"You should give him a shot," she commented, flinging another firework into the flames. "If I had a second chance with my parents, I'd take it."
