Peter didn't particularly want to gather a crowd, but making a campfire and tossing black snakes and firecrackers at it seemed particularly amusing today.

So yeah, there was definitely a bit of noise. Peter wasn't a blossoming pyro or anything, he was just a bored teenager. Anyone was definitely welcome to join him. He might even have some moddable extra bits of fireworks.

"You know how to make these sorts of things?" Bod asked, eyes going up to Peter this time. "I'd assume it's a combination of having the right items and knowing how to mix chemicals?"

"Exactly," Peter said. "Like I said, simple chemistry. Technically so is bomb-making, but I'm not a sociopath." He chuckled. "Just in case you were worried."

"I wasn't," Bod assured him and snickered a bit. "Have you made these sorts of things before or would it be a first for you? If they're as good as the ones I've seen before, you could probably make a good profit."

"I probably can't do any of the big fireworks. No Roman Candles or anything that fires off. But firecrackers are simple," Peter said. "And it would be a first for me. But I like trying new things."

"It would be new for me," Peter said. "But the simple ones like these can't be too hard. Anything rocket propelled is going to take a little more finesse and is probably just a bit more dangerous than I want to risk."

"Chemistry was something I learned but never got to practically take on," Bod said, explaining his questions away. "I didn't have access to a lot of chemicals myself so it was mostly reading and retaining. I didn't realize it had so many uses out here."

"It's the building blocks of all science, really," Peter said. "So it has near infinite applications. Especially for pranks."

"Probably one of the most helpful uses of chemistry in a high school," said Bod, nodding and almost smiling. "Any pranks planned or would sharing eliminate the surprise?"

"I'll let you know if I come up with any," Peter said. "After all, a willing accomplice or two helps things go better."

He held out a hand. "Peter Bishop," he introduced.

"Nobody Owens," he said and shook the offered hand easily. "I go by Bod though. It's less confusing for most people. Pleasure to meet you."

"See, now I have to be friends with you," Peter said. "Just so I can call home and tell her that Nobody is my friend."

It wasn't clever, but Peter thought that was funny.

Snickering, Bod nodded his agreement to that. He didn't mind people using his name to their advantage like that. It was amusing and something he hadn't yet thought of as a use for his name.

"I've introduced myself to some people here as Nobody and they try to assure me that I am somebody and not to have low self esteem," he shared. "People here are very helpful even if their attempts are misguided."

"It's a very... celebrity child name," Peter said. "You and Moon Unit Zappa could compare notes."

"I don't know who that is but if I ever meet her, I'll be sure to do that," Bod said, laughing. "My parents were a little different. I got the name because I didn't look like nobody but myself. It makes for a good story."

Peter thought about that for a moment, and then decided he liked that. "So do you prefer Bod? Because I have to say, I really am coming around to the full name. It's unique, but now I'm starting to think that, well, nobody else is Nobody."

"I don't have a preference but I go by Bod just to prevent confusion," he explained. "If you'd like to call me Nobody, I won't mind. There's a few others who use that and I answer to it as well. I won't ignore you, thus making it seem like you're talking to nobody."

The wordplay opportunities were endless!

"So now is when I ask if you've been here long," Peter said. "Or if you're as green here as I am."

"This is my second semester," Bod told him. "So, I'm not the newest but I'm still fairly new. New enough to still be surprised and confused by a few things. Home was a little different than here."

"I think everyone's home is a little different than here," Peter said. "Find me someone new who thinks this is all run-of-the-mill and I'll give you five bucks."

"I don't know, I think I'd lose that bet and I don't know if I'd want to part with five dollars in an attempt to prove a point," he joked easily. "I suppose the fact that it's different is what makes it exciting. It's hard to get too bored."
