The cabins were starting to get to Alex. Sure, he and Griff often got into fistfights or bitch fights or any other type of fights but he'd only had to deal with one person when he was in a pissy mood. And Griff wasn't one to nag or be nosy so it'd been a copacetic situation.

Now, just to stop feeling like the walls were closing in on him, Alex had bolted out of his cabin and towards the campfire with the intention of smoking enough cigarettes to calm himself down. His mood was just fine, for once, but he was not built for cabin living.

At least the sun was going down and taking the temperature with it. Alex found a spot near the campfire, relaxed back against a log and stretched out, already lighting up a smoke and taking advantage of being outside to indulge in his favorite vice.

See, he already felt better.

"Deal with it, Emma," she teased. "That's just the way I am. Obscene and dirty-minded."

"And you enjoy it, too," Emma complained, giving Rose a good-natured push on her shoulder. "But you don't get to start in on my life unless we gossip about yours, first."

"Hell yes, I do," Rose agreed, swaying with the push. "I don't know what you're talking about. I have no gossip. None at all."

Right.

"Liar liar pants on fire," Emma sang. "You've always got good gossip."

She laughed. "What can I say? I've been totally boring recently. Working guarding Adrian and training and that's about it. It's totally sad, I know."

This would be Emma's 'I don't believe you, but I won't push it in public' face.

"Riiiight," she drawled. "First order of business? We find some fun for you that does not involve training. It'll be easier to learn how to shield your mind if you're less stressed."

"Anything that involves fun, I'm good with," Rose said. "When? I'm apparently mostly free for a while this crap gets figured out."

"Monday?" Emma suggested. "I've only got one class. We can hit the beach, see if anyone wants to come with us."

"I've got class Monday too, but it's in the morning," she said. "Sounds awesome. I'll grab some alcohol and food, and we'll get all beach party about it."

"We should throw a real party before the summer is over," she mused. "A celebration of making it through the year."

Rose smiled slowly. "I'm all for that. We totally should. Something insane that'll make 'em all stare."

"And to make everyone we didn't invite completely jealous," Emma laughed. "It could be the most fabulous event in the history of the island."

"Could be?" Rose asked, making a face. "Oh, come on, have some faith in us."
