Locust campfire- Monday night

The thing about Jaina's current situation was that she always felt like she had to be around people. It was beginning to get annoying. She took that as a good sign. And since she figured there'd be something wrong with her going to Caritas again, she headed out to the campfire, started a fire... and kind of regretted it because it was a little warm for that.

Whatever, there were marshmallows to be roasted and you couldn't do that over thin air.

[I cannot help it, she is all social lately. Open!]

John was debating hitting the bar again. In this town, five nights in a row hanging with Tino meant nothing more than, well, not having enough friends. John's actual problem was that he knew Chuck opened Mondays and that was a conversation best left for...never.

So he headed outside to see about starting a fire, only to find one already burning. "Seriously, we have to quit meeting like this."

"I'll take three, thanks," John said, taking a seat on a log and holding up his hand to catch them.

"What? People use sticks to eat these?" John asked, making a face at her as he snatched the marshmallows out of the air.

John rolled his eyes and tossed a marshmallow in the air so he could catch it with his mouth. "Mrut it ates o ood!"

He swallowed and smiled. "I was just pointing out how good they are raw."

"I've had warm and mushy," John promised with a smirk. "Today I'm going for something a little different."

John laughed. "You started it!"

"Hey, you've engaged with my brain before," John pointed out. "You know how these things go."

"Oh hell no," John scoffed, chewing through another marshmallow. "Time away is never an excuse." If it was, he'd have gotten away with so much more.

"Well, since I can't go with my old methods of making you bend to my will, I'll just have to refuse to accept your excuse. Come up with something better." He'd liked his old methods, too.

Good thing John had no clue and so he was still being good. For him.

"What?" John was cracking up now. "Seriously, you cannot blame me for whatever it is you're thinking about. Which is clearly dirty."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-08-17 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I'm already blaming you," John told her. For what, he wasn't sure. This conversation was really weird. "And your marshmallows."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-08-17 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
"It sure wasn't how I was eating them," John teased, popping the third marshmallow into his mouth and chewing slowly.
