Farewell Slumber Party, 6th Floor, Wednesday Night

By now, Karla was used to throwing parties at school. The set-up was easy enough: lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of games and activities, lots of space. There were some streamers and balloons up, mostly because Karla was trying to remind everyone (or, at least, herself) that this was supposed to be a happy occasion.

Really. It was. At least, that's what everyone kept telling her.

The important thing to keep in mind was that there would (probably) be no repeat of her last sixth floor party sadly. She had gone the safe an glitter-free route this time. Clad in her new pajamas, Karla waited for her guests to arrive.

[Yay for slumber parties. For girls only (and our honorary girl for the evening), up early for great SP justice. Please hold for OCD up!]

"I did say I would," she laughed, having to grin back at that sort of enthusiasm. "And Yei insisted."

She managed a straight face with that one, yes. Yei hadn't really cared about anything other than TRIP. ELSEWHERE. EXPLORING. And purring merrily.

As Yei tended to do.

"There are plenty of places for her to explore in here," Karla said with a chuckle. "Though if you get lost in the ballpit, I'm going to laugh before I fish you out," she warned the kitten.

The warning went unheeded, she just knew it.

"So, what are the odds I can get you singing tonight?" Karla asked Hinata slyly. "There's no sta~ge for you to worry about."

Yei was wriggling so Hinata gently set her down and watched as the kitten made a beeline for Karla's feet. Person!

Then she looked up, mildly bemused. "You d-do not really think I would do that, do you?"

That was not a no, but it definitely wasn't a yes either.

"No nipping," Karla said sternly to Yei. "Pouncing is fine, but no teeth."

Or as sternly as she could, while grinning. Sigh.

"I dunno," she said, looking back at Hinata with a wink. "I'm hoping I can convince you to do it against your better judgment. It's fun, I promise! Would I ever lead you wrong?"

"In a misguided attempt to pull me from my shell?" Hinata asked, smiling to take the sting from the words. "Sh-Shall I take my time to answer that?"

Yei, for her part, was going to rub up against those ankles. Pouncing would come, snuggles first.

Well, Karla couldn't argue with snuggles at all. She crouched down to pet Yei, all while grinning up at Hinata. "We'll never know if it's misguided if we don't try, will we?"
