Farewell Slumber Party, 6th Floor, Wednesday Night

By now, Karla was used to throwing parties at school. The set-up was easy enough: lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of games and activities, lots of space. There were some streamers and balloons up, mostly because Karla was trying to remind everyone (or, at least, herself) that this was supposed to be a happy occasion.

Really. It was. At least, that's what everyone kept telling her.

The important thing to keep in mind was that there would (probably) be no repeat of her last sixth floor party sadly. She had gone the safe an glitter-free route this time. Clad in her new pajamas, Karla waited for her guests to arrive.

[Yay for slumber parties. For girls only (and our honorary girl for the evening), up early for great SP justice. Please hold for OCD up!]

Tara was smiling slightly as she arrived, clad in a baggy knee-length nightgown and carrying a plate of fudge. "I bought snacks!" she offered, then glanced to the buffet table. "... more snacks."

Which were probably unnecessary.

"Ooooh, what kind of snacks?" Karla asked, popping up at Tara's shoulders.

According to Karla, one could never have too many snacks.

"Is that fudge?" Now Karla was giving Tara her best begging-puppy eyes. "Can I have one? Pleeeeease?"

"My fudge is your fudge," Tara confirmed, holding the plate out. "I didn't make it. I got it at the candy shop in town."

Karla greedily took a big piece of fudge, looked guiltily at Tara, then shrugged and started nibbling it anyway. "If you want to pass it off as yours, I won't tell a soul," she promised. "And for a second piece, I'll even tell people I watched you make it."

Tara laughed. "Take a third and say I, um, won a prize with it."

Karla grabbed two more. "Done and done again!" she crowed. "Before the end of the night, you'll have everyone coming up to you asking for your prize-winning fudge recipe."
