Hannibal had been putting this off for months now. Considering he had just forty eight hours left on the island, it seemed that his time of hedging and procrastinating had come to an end. When he made bets, he filled them even if it took him time.

So, he'd move some of the furniture aside and out of the way all while wearing a thick bathrobe. Yes, he was wearing spandex pants under that bathrobe and no, he wasn't going to show that off until he absolutely had to. Kate was just lucky he hadn't tried to find a loophole.

There was a boombox nearby, queued up with the most ridiculous song known to man. In a few minutes, he'd have to click play and actually dance.

He was going to dance. In spandex. To a girly song. He hated his life and yet, he'd keep making bets. Stupid bowling game.

Hannibal was going to get tackle-hugged right about now. After Kate had hidden her camera in a safe place, of course. She wasn't dumb.

"Oh my God!" she exclaimed with a laugh, lost for other words.

"I hope that's a good exclamation and not one that means I sucked and have to do it again," he said, catching her against him and hugging her back.

He would not be doing that again, oh no.

For once, she wasn't going to start even teasing him about doing it again. She'd just snicker and cling a bit. "I can't believe you actually did that!"

"Oh, come on, I said I would," he replied with a laugh. "Don't ever doubt me. I pay my debts. This one's paid. And if you show whatever pictures you took to anyone, I will sue you for libel. Or slander. One of those."

"Oh don't worry babe, I won't show anyone any pictures." Beat. "I took video."

"I hate you so much," he said but didn't mean it. "Don't show the video to anyone either or I will hunt you down."

"You'll come see me," she translated, pressing a quick kiss on his cheek before letting go of him, still a little gleeful. "I'll show it to everyone."

"I will find that film and I will magnetize it," he threatened not at all seriously. Maybe he was fine with doing this since she was so happy.

She was so happy for this moment especially. Limited time offer. For him. There was a lot that lurked on the edges of her mind after the visit home from hell, but somehow she was finding the energy to be cheerful about this.

"Pfft. You'll never find it."

"You're not gonna have mercy, be nice on me since tomorrow's my last day?" Hannibal asked. "So mean, Kate, so mean."

"You'd want me to act like someone else on your second to last day?" Kate retorted. "Don't you wanna remember me the way I am?"

"Well yeah but I want special privileges too!" Hannibal declared because he was a whiner.

"Well I'm sorry, but you're not gonna get them." And she wasn't sorry, either. "You just get me."

"I suppose I can live with just getting you," he said and sighed heavily. "As long as you stay hot."

No, he didn't mean that.

"I'll always stay hot."

Or she'd always have a huge ego. Or something.

"You're ego is amazing," he said and that was a compliment. "It is like a country unto itself."

"Well, it keeps me happy." It didn't, actually, but that was beside the point when saying things like that made her feel like herself. "And I'm awesome, so of course I have to have an ego to match."

"Gonna come see me tomorrow?" he asked, reaching for her hand. "Last day."

Kate only made a mild face at those words, giving his hand a squeeze as it met hers. "Yeah."

She wouldn't miss it. As much as it would totally suck.

"Good," he said and smiled at her. "It won't be the last time you're seeing me, all right? I'm not gonna be disappearing."

"You better not be," she admonished, but shrugged a shoulder. "I know. Still kinda really sucks, you know?"

"You've got other people that'll take my place," he said, smiling a little sadly. "Won't even know I'm gone."

"Shut up." No, really, he probably should. She'd been crying a lot lately, and could make no promises about not doing it again. "Yes I will."

"I'm probably going up to New York," he said, dropping that line of questioning. "You can come visit, we can show the city how awesome we are."

"I fucked up most of my last visit to New York," she replied with a quirk of a wry smile. "So I would love that. We'll kick that city's ass."
