Fifth Floor Common Room [evening]

Sookie had Top Model on in the background as she whistled tunelessly in the kitchen. Idle hands had made her restless, and tonight found her making a dish of brownies to enjoy in front of the television. (With sprinkles!)

There was a certain irony to the evening, to baking something to eat while watching a show about the ultra-tall and thin, but Sookie didn't really care. Mostly she was giving herself something to do, and hoping that if the squeal of girls didn't draw people in, the smell of chocolate would.

[come keep me from succumbing to a head cold!]

"I don't know about illogical, but it's not something I would find myself watching," Bruce said. "Ever."

Was part of the reason he was talking to people an attempt to drone the show out? Yes. Yes it was.

Spock fully endorsed this behavior. "Yes, I would agree with that assessment as well," he agreed. "What is the purpose of this program?"

"It's entertainment for people who enjoy fashion, competition, and beautiful women being horrible to each other," Bruce said. "More people find that entertaining than you might suspect."

"I stand by my initial assessment, then," Spock said firmly. Totally illogical. "I can recognize the aesthetic appeal of the participants," he admitted, "but their behavior appears inexcusable."

"Some people enjoy that," Bruce said. "That's the part I find illogical."

"I must concur," Spock agreed. "Are they competing to determine which of them is least horrible?" That he could at least understand!

"They're trying to decide who the best model is," Bruce said. "I'm not sure how that concept becomes a several month-long television show, but that's the world we live in." So cheery, Bruce.

"Is it not simply a matter of which one of them looks the best in the clothing?" Spock asked. "I must confess I have only a vague understanding of how 'modeling' works, but I was under the impression that was what was entailed."

"Apparently it consists of much more than that for some reason," Bruce said, shaking his head.

"As I said, I am not entirely familiar with the profession, but several months seems...excessive."
