Fifth Floor Common Room, Monday Night

Raven had claimed the fifth floor common room with a flag in the name of Rumor Gal tonight. She'd been waiting months for tonight's episode after the terrible cliffhanger earlier that year that had left her favorite character in grave peril.

She thought she'd figured out her laptop so that she could video chat with Hoshi if she called, and Jono had said he'd join her to watch, but anyone was welcomed, of course.

Just don't even think of turning the channel.

That would be Zatanna going a up a floor to see what was going on there...and Raven was going on there.

And TV, too. Fast, watch TV. Because that would totally make her invisible. Zatanna was going to pretend she was very interested in this Rumor Gal thing. Veeeery.

Sookie wandered out to the common room, took one look at Raven on the couch, and did a little mental figuring about when TV seasons started, and asked, "Rumor Gal back tonight?"

It was a safe guess, all things considered.

Raven glanced up, ready to welcome whomever it was to the room. Her face fell when she saw Zatanna, but she forced herself to be polite. "Hello," she said, keeping her voice neutral.

"Yes!" Raven said excitedly. "Now we can finally find out what happened to Charlie!" She already had a good idea, since she'd been reading spoilers, but they hadn't been entirely specific.

Ariel was heading back to her room after Zack's superfun beach birthday party, but all that sun and swimming still didn't wear her out for the potential of more partying. Because there seemed to be something going on in the common room. Of course she had to check it out!

"Oooh, is something exciting happening?" she asked, hoping dearly that there was.

"I know I've been on tenterhooks," Sookie said seriously, taking a seat. "He got shot or something, right?"

"It is the season premiere of Rumor Gal tonight!" Raven said with a smile, though she had a death grip on the remote. "You are welcome to watch if you wish."

"And left to die," Raven said gravely. "It has been very distressing waiting to find out what will happen."

"He'll be okay," Sookie assured her. "Isn't he a main character? They wouldn't do that to y'all."

"I have learned of things called 'spoiler sites,'" Raven confessed. "And I saw pictures of him there. I am certain he will be all right, but I wish to know how it will affect his behavior and his relationships with the other characters. Perhaps he will become a better person because of it."

"Do you want him to?" Sookie wondered. "Or would that like, ruin the essence of who he is? Don't people like him for his jerkish charm?"

Ellie wandered into the common room somewhat excitedly. "Are you watching the Rumor Gal season premiere in here?"

"I think he is a good person inside," Raven said. As if her empathy worked on a television character. "He is just afraid to reveal that part of him."

"Yes!" Raven said happily. "Please, you are welcome to watch with me. I am very excited."

"But if he did," Sookie noted, "would he be as interesting? Aren't characters interesting because of their faults?"

Don't get deep, Sookie. It's only Rumor Gal.

"I've been getting caught up on the show all summer. Hoshi recommended it," Ellie explained. "I just finished season three yesterday."

"Oooh!" said Ariel, who, despite having no idea what that really meant, was plopping with a bounce into a seat. "Sure!"

Then there was a pause.

And she decided to ask, "What's Rumor Gal?"

"Perhaps not," Raven mused. "But I do not think he would change that quickly. He would fall back on bad behavior."

Mmm, bad boys.

"Is it not a wonderful show?" Raven said. "It is so filled with complex emotions. I have used it to learn about them." Really, that was totally her reason for watching.

"It is a compelling television show about the lives of privileged young adults who dwell in New York City," Raven explained. "It is rich with emotion and drama, and it is my favorite show."

At least she said hello instead of DIEEEE. Zatanna was counting her blessings. "Good evening", replied with equal neutrality.

"So..." Oh boy. "Rumor...Gal?" She was not going to point the name sounded pretty silly.

"It's a fun show. I have to admit, though, I watch it for more shallow reasons," Ellie admitted. "There's a lot of pretty people on the show."

"Yes," Raven said stiffly, her grip on the remote tightening as if she almost expected Zatanna to try to magic it away. "It is my favorite television show."

"Most people don't change that quickly," Sookie agreed with a sigh. "Especially fictional ones. The show would lose viewers."

"There is that as well," Raven had to agree. "Who is your favorite character? Who do you find most attractive?"
