Fifth Floor Common Room, Monday Night

Raven had claimed the fifth floor common room with a flag in the name of Rumor Gal tonight. She'd been waiting months for tonight's episode after the terrible cliffhanger earlier that year that had left her favorite character in grave peril.

She thought she'd figured out her laptop so that she could video chat with Hoshi if she called, and Jono had said he'd join her to watch, but anyone was welcomed, of course.

Just don't even think of turning the channel.

That would be Zatanna going a up a floor to see what was going on there...and Raven was going on there.

And TV, too. Fast, watch TV. Because that would totally make her invisible. Zatanna was going to pretend she was very interested in this Rumor Gal thing. Veeeery.

Raven glanced up, ready to welcome whomever it was to the room. Her face fell when she saw Zatanna, but she forced herself to be polite. "Hello," she said, keeping her voice neutral.

At least she said hello instead of DIEEEE. Zatanna was counting her blessings. "Good evening", replied with equal neutrality.

"So..." Oh boy. "Rumor...Gal?" She was not going to point the name sounded pretty silly.

"Yes," Raven said stiffly, her grip on the remote tightening as if she almost expected Zatanna to try to magic it away. "It is my favorite television show."

Sookie wandered out to the common room, took one look at Raven on the couch, and did a little mental figuring about when TV seasons started, and asked, "Rumor Gal back tonight?"

It was a safe guess, all things considered.

"Yes!" Raven said excitedly. "Now we can finally find out what happened to Charlie!" She already had a good idea, since she'd been reading spoilers, but they hadn't been entirely specific.

"I know I've been on tenterhooks," Sookie said seriously, taking a seat. "He got shot or something, right?"

"And left to die," Raven said gravely. "It has been very distressing waiting to find out what will happen."

Ariel was heading back to her room after Zack's superfun beach birthday party, but all that sun and swimming still didn't wear her out for the potential of more partying. Because there seemed to be something going on in the common room. Of course she had to check it out!

"Oooh, is something exciting happening?" she asked, hoping dearly that there was.

"It is the season premiere of Rumor Gal tonight!" Raven said with a smile, though she had a death grip on the remote. "You are welcome to watch if you wish."

"Oooh!" said Ariel, who, despite having no idea what that really meant, was plopping with a bounce into a seat. "Sure!"

Then there was a pause.

And she decided to ask, "What's Rumor Gal?"

"It is a compelling television show about the lives of privileged young adults who dwell in New York City," Raven explained. "It is rich with emotion and drama, and it is my favorite show."

Ellie wandered into the common room somewhat excitedly. "Are you watching the Rumor Gal season premiere in here?"

"Yes!" Raven said happily. "Please, you are welcome to watch with me. I am very excited."

"I've been getting caught up on the show all summer. Hoshi recommended it," Ellie explained. "I just finished season three yesterday."

"Is it not a wonderful show?" Raven said. "It is so filled with complex emotions. I have used it to learn about them." Really, that was totally her reason for watching.

William had no idea tonight was the Rumor Gal premiere, seeing as he had no idea what Rumor Gal even was. Mostly he was bored and had wandered up to the fifth floor in hopes of finding Rilla about.

He glanced around, noting the entirely-female population of the room. "I'm not intruding or anything, am I?" he had to ask.

"We are watching Rumor Gal," Raven said, gesturing at the TV. "You are welcomed to watch as well, if you wish.'

"I... am not sure what that is," Will admitted, eyeing the screen dubiously. So far his experiences with television had been informational programmes and reality television.

Harper hadn't meant to stop on her way downstairs from the roof, but she couldn't help noticing the commotion going on in the common room. "Is there something interesting on TV?" she asked.

"Rumor Gal!" Raven said happily. "It is the first episode of the new season."

"Is that supposed to be an important one?" asked Harper.

Well... Jonothon had promised that he was going to be here, and really, it was only fair, considering the fact that he was shoving books at Raven left and right, now.

He wasn't entirely certain about the subject matter of what was going to be on the telly, no, but he was game to find out regardless.

//Evening, gel.// He flopped down onto the couch. //I miss anything good?//

"It has only just begun," Raven said, looking over at Jono with a smile. She was terribly glad he'd come so she could share her passion with him. "But at the end of the last season, there was an unfortunate break-up which led to one of the main characters engaging in an intimate relationship with someone he should not have, which in turn led to destroying the reconciliation between him and the young lady he loves. And then poor Charlie was shot and left for dead in an alleyway!"

Ah, picking out the reason why big, horrible things happened to television characters at the end of a season. Jono enjoyed dissecting these things. Hopefully he wouldn't be too maddening about it.
