Fifth Floor Common Room; Monday Evening [ 09/20 ].

Sure, Ariel had said just streamers and a banner, but there were balloons now thrown into the mix because she couldn't help it. She and Ellie had gotten up all the decorations, which were all very pretty shades of green, based entirely on the fact that Ariel remembered that green was the color of the shirt she'd helped Chuck pick out. There was still an awful lot of flowers around, too, though who even knew where Ariel was getting them. The banner, meanwhile, was certainly not lacking in sparkle, stretched across the room:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK!!!!!

So now there would just be the setting out of all the food and the drinks and ever important CAKE, then waiting for guests and the ever important BIRTHDAY BOY and it would be time to party!

[[ up early because of evil things like working and time zones! Slowly approaching OCD is on the way up! Rock out! ]]

"It will!" ... It would? He turned it over in his hands a few times before eventually finding the right bit for his head and getting his mind around how the wearing of it would work.

"I... I have never seen one of these before." Not that surprising.

"It's a totally one-of-a-kind creation!" said Harper. "You have to show me how it looks on you. It's the first one I've tried making."

Really, Chuck was probably very lucky that Harper hadn't knitted it from her own hair or added floral appliques.

Okay, theoretical figuring out of the hat, and the practical application were two veeeery different things.

"Did you uh, make it yourself then?" Chuck asked as he tried getting it on, probably backwards. "You said you... make clothes, right?" See? Things stuck with him after dates as short as three minutes.

"Clothes and accessories. And yes, I made this, too," said Harper. "I figured it would be easier to go the accessory route than to try knitting a sweater, since I don't know your measurements."
