Fifth Floor Common Room; Monday Evening [ 09/20 ].

Sure, Ariel had said just streamers and a banner, but there were balloons now thrown into the mix because she couldn't help it. She and Ellie had gotten up all the decorations, which were all very pretty shades of green, based entirely on the fact that Ariel remembered that green was the color of the shirt she'd helped Chuck pick out. There was still an awful lot of flowers around, too, though who even knew where Ariel was getting them. The banner, meanwhile, was certainly not lacking in sparkle, stretched across the room:


HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK!!!!!


So now there would just be the setting out of all the food and the drinks and ever important CAKE, then waiting for guests and the ever important BIRTHDAY BOY and it would be time to party!

"Where I'm from, we celebrate everyone's birthday on Midsummer's Day. Big feast for everyone, instead of lots of little feasts." He shrugged.

"I'd rather have lots of little feasts," Ariel said. "I bet lots of little feasts add up to more than just one big feast."

"True, but what if you miss one?" he suggested. "You can't be at all parties at the same time, nor cross town easily."
