Second Floor Common Room; Monday Afternoon

It wasn't Shira's common room, but that wasn't stopping her from plopping herself down on a couch and flipping through the TV channels.

People could make her leave if they didn't want her there. The second floor was just more interesting today.

Even if what was on the television was even more boring, if possible, than anything she'd watched before.

"This is my shocked and surprised face," Karla deadpanned. "Anyway, I'll have to ask Jaenelle for some books and things, but we could probably work something out."

Morton could bring the books with him when he came for Parent's Weekend!

On a shielded psychic thread to Cassidy, Karla sent a word of caution. *Cassidy, I want you to be careful around Shira. You needn't avoid her or anything, just...take care, okay?*

Cassidy would love to meet Karla's cousin, and if he brought learning materials, he'd have a fan.

Oh yes, that was definitely mounting excitement from Cassidy. "And if you needed more space for anything, you could use my room," she offered. "I don't have a roommate since Hiccup had to go back home."

Since Karla had never had to warn her about someone before, Cassidy was instantly more alert. *All right, I will. But, Karla, what's -wrong-?*

Karla bit her lip, glancing over at Shira before replying. *Maybe nothing,* she admitted. *Just...Terreille isn't like Kaeleer. There's a reason we cut off contact for the past fifty-thousand years. A lot of the stories I've heard of that Realm aren't very pleasant. I just want you to be careful, okay?*

Cassidy didn't know anything about Terreille except for the fact that Kaeleer had cut off contact thousands of years ago. For Karla to be concerned enough to warn her made her consider how to find more information about the territory.

*I promise I'll be careful,* Cassidy assured Karla. *It could be that she might be just as worried about us, though, right?*

Because it made sense in Cassidy's mind that if someone from Kaeleer worried about someone from Terreille, then the opposite must also be true, right?
