Fifth Floor Common Room, Monday Night

Raven was worried about Karla after the text message she'd gotten late last night. As far as she knew, Karla had run off alone to Kaeleer, which didn't bode well. And fretting about Karla definitely wasn't helping with the issues she'd talked to Dinah about yesterday, so she decided to distract herself as only Monday nights could. Ice cream and Rumor Gal. Baby J was supposed to return tonight. There could be imminent rage...which wasn't very healthy either, but at least it wasn't worrying or moping.

Elphaba had been rather restless in her room, so she'd wandered from common room to common room until she found a familiar face.

"Raven, hello," she greeted as she entered. "You're watching the TV?"

Pardon her if she sounded a little disappointed.

"Hello, Elphaba, yes, I am waiting for my favorite show to come on," Raven said, smiling. She couldn't help but notice Elphaba's disappointment, of course. "Is something wrong with that?"

"I have yet to see a show on the TV that seemed worth my time," Elphaba said, not mincing words. "Though I'll admit I haven't tried to watch much."

"I do not watch much tv," Raven said, "but for some reason this show has drawn me in. It has taught me about social interactions and human emotions."

And Charlie was hot. Shhh.

"Oh," Elphaba said. "I've been told I could learn a few things about social interactions myself. You... think it will help me?"

"It is a very different life than what we have here in Fandom," Raven said. She scooted over on the couch to make room for Elphaba to sit if she so wished. "But it is still very interesting."

"Everything is much different than Fandom," Elphaba admitted. She decided to at least humor Raven and try to feign interest. "What is it about?"

"Are we dressing up early this year?" asked Harper, spotting a girl with green skin.

She wasn't trying to be rude. She honestly assumed that the green was part of a Halloween costume.

Elphaba couldn't help but glower. "Why, are you dressed up as uppity brat?"

"What? No, these are just pajamas. I thought I might as well be comfy while watching television," said Harper.

No, she didn't quite get it yet.

"You seem the sort to enjoy this sort of television," Elphaba said. And yes, that was kind of an insult in her mind.

"I do! This show is so much fun. I don't miss an episode if I can help it," said Harper, giving the other girl a genuine smile. "I'm Harper, by the way. I don't think we've met, but maybe I just don't recognize you without the make-up."

Elphaba returned Harper's smile with a glare.

"It isn't make-up," she said, simply.

Sookie hated to admit that Rumor Gal was kind of starting to grow on her. And frankly, tonight, she needed the distraction. "So what's happening tonight?" she asked, coming in to perch on the couch. "I hope it's distractingly melodramatic."

"The annoying little sister is returning in this episode," Raven said solemnly. "It cannot bring good news."

"The one who looks like a crack-addicted clown?" Sookie asked interestedly, leaning her elbows on her knees. "Where'd she go?"

"She supposedly has been away from the city to put her life together after all the awful things she had done last season," Raven said. "But I suspect she will not have changed at all. She is very unpleasant."

"Wasn't she a nice little thing when the show started?" Sookie asked sadly.

Raven nodded. "She has changed a great deal, but not for the better," she said. "Her story is one of corruption, but her attempts to redeem herself have been half-hearted at best."

Of course Harper was there, even if she still wasn't sure what was going on. She was looking rather quizzically at the TV screen. "That girl needs to put on more clothing and take off all the eye make-up. She looks like a raccoon."

"I thought her father said that she had cleaned herself up," Raven said, puzzled and frowning at the screen. "Obviously, he is mistaken."

"Maybe he was looking at someplace other than her face," said Harper, frowning. "She's just asking for an eye infection with all that eyeliner and mascara."

"I became very fond of eyeliner after my first slumber party here," Raven said, just a tiny bit defensively. "But I do not use that much!"

"It looks better on you because of your coloring," said Harper, giving Raven a slight smile. "But she's got blond, so that black eyeliner just looks too heavy."

"Good, thank you," Raven said, pleased with Harper's comment. She would never want to be compared with Baby J.

Then she gaped at the TV as she saw what Claire had done to sabotage Baby J. "Oh my, that was...cruel."
