The Pool; Thursday Evening [ 11/18 ] -- POOL PARTY!!!
It was finally Thursday! It was finally party time!
And Ariel, not wanting to be a disappointment in carrying the tradition of Atlantican parties onto the land, had gone all out, showing up at the pool as soon as she was finished with Glee Club to get everything set and ready for when the party was going to start. The decorations were slightly insane, and had been...an interesting challenge to put up, but Ariel had managed without falling into the pool too much. And off in an area where the splashing was unlikely to spoil anything, she'd set up a food table with all of her favorite human foods (she was going to do some Atlantican ones, but she'd have to make them herself, and no one wanted that) and a dance floor with a DJ booth for Jono.
How she got all this down here and up was just going to wind up being one of those great mysteries of life, but she knew that hard work and perseverance and obsessive planning had really paid off.
But, of course, it'd be nothing without guests.
[[ yay party! OCD ison the way up, huzzah! Everyone got a personal invitation, so come on in, the water's fine! ]]

Unless they were aiming it at him. And then all bets were off.

You know. Mu... sicians.
Re: Dance! -- 11/18.
Re: Dance! -- 11/18.
He meant that in the nicest way, honest!

"That seems a hard rule to maintain. Do they offer escorts then to travellers? I would think that even here the roads can be dangerous."
Re: Dance! -- 11/18.
//There's... an entire legal system,// he replied. //People charged to protect those who otherwise can't protect themselves. They don't have to be everywhere at once, they just have to be good enough to figure out who broke which rules. Generally, it works. Most people don't want to get caught. Those who don't care tend to get caught quickly enough.//
Well, in an ideal world. He was leaving out the whole second-class citizen thing that his world had mixed in, wherever mutants were concerned.
Re: Dance! -- 11/18.
"We have guards to protect the people as well, but it will not forbid a farmer from picking up a sword. It seems to me that some crimes could have been prevented instead of being forced to find the culprit when the harm has been done."
Faramir was not very good at picking appropriate party topics.
Re: Dance! -- 11/18.
//It would seem so, wouldn't it?// He couldn't argue, exactly. You couldn't try a person for a law that hadn't been broken yet. //I don't presume to understand how it all works around here. I'm not American, and my world has a few notable differences beyond that.//
Re: Dance! -- 11/18.
Instead, he did not mind letting Jonothon distract him, eager to learn as much as he could. "And what sort of differences are there in your world?"
Re: Dance! -- 11/18.
//They're fairly subtle,// he noted, after a moment. //Slightly more advanced technology. Contact with extraterrestrials. People with supernatural abilities beyond what a normal human might be able to manage. Gods. Demons...//
Really, the more he listed off, the less subtle the differences seemed. Huh.
Re: Dance! -- 11/18.
"And where would you place yourself? I know that you are not a demon, and I do not think you are a god either."
Re: Dance! -- 11/18.
//Just a man,// he replied, shaking his head a bit. //Perhaps a bit different from most, but... If it's up to me to place myself, then I'm simply a man.//
Now, if someone else were to place him, they might have other words to say about that.
