It was finally Thursday! It was finally party time!

And Ariel, not wanting to be a disappointment in carrying the tradition of Atlantican parties onto the land, had gone all out, showing up at the pool as soon as she was finished with Glee Club to get everything set and ready for when the party was going to start. The decorations were slightly insane, and had been...an interesting challenge to put up, but Ariel had managed without falling into the pool too much. And off in an area where the splashing was unlikely to spoil anything, she'd set up a food table with all of her favorite human foods (she was going to do some Atlantican ones, but she'd have to make them herself, and no one wanted that) and a dance floor with a DJ booth for Jono.

How she got all this down here and up was just going to wind up being one of those great mysteries of life, but she knew that hard work and perseverance and obsessive planning had really paid off.

But, of course, it'd be nothing without guests.

"Oh, not at all," Rilla replied. "I just keep forgetting to call upon you and deliver it. How have you been these past weeks?"

"You are doing me a service, it should not be up to you to call upon me to deliver it," Faramir assured her.

"I have... managed. It has been interesting at the least, if not frustrating at times. I would not mind if the next few weeks settle down somewhat, or I might not find the time to actually read your books!"

Rilla laughed. "It has seemed rather hectic," she admitted. "I'm returning home tomorrow for a week's holiday. I hardly know what to tell my family about this place."

"As much as I am against advising a person to lie, it is my philosophy that many things here are simply best to remain unsaid," Faramir admitted.

"It sounds like you have a pleasant week ahead of you, at least."

"It will be very nice to go home," Rilla sighed. "I haven't been since early summer."

"Is it the first time you have been away this long from it?" Faramir asked gently, not missing her sigh.

She nodded. "My other siblings have all flown the nest but the furthest I'd been from home was a day to Charlottetown."

"That must not be easy then, to be gone so long instantly," he spoke quietly.

"I remember the first day my brother took me with him. I was so eager to see all he did when he was away from me. I would love to say that I took to it instantly, but truth of the matter is that I longed for my own room more than I should have."

"My pillow, and the way I could smell the sea air through my windows," Rilla said. "And Susan's toast and jam in the mornings."

"Small things, you do not think you will miss until they are no longer there," Faramir said, smiling softly. "Will your siblings be there when you visit?"

Rilla nodded. "All but Jem--it's to far to travel from university," she explained.

"That is a shame," he said sympathetically. "There are no cars or airplanes where you are from then?"
