6th Floor Common Room [Saturday afternoon]

Sookie had spent the better part of the morning ensuring that every balloon was filled, that the food -- thanks Kennedy -- was out, and that the ballpit was available for maximum...ballpittiness.

Shhh.

The cake had taken her awhile (though she'd ordered the penguins rather than made them herself) but overall, she was pretty pleased with it. And hopefully, the birthday boy would also be.

"Kiss kiss!" Karla said, waving over her plate. "You're finally here! Sookie wouldn't let us start on the cake till you'd seen it first."

She figured Bobby could appreciate her priorities. "Happy birthday."

"What a tyrant," Bobby said, mock-sympathetically. "However did you manage?"

"I stole some anyway," Karla lied solemnly. "Do me a favor, don't turn the cake around when you blow out the candles, okay?"

"Karlaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa," Bobby gave her his best sad-eyed-puppy look. "You didn't."

"It's really good," she assured him. "Sookie did a fabulous job. You'll love the cream filling in the middle."

Bobby gave Karla a side-eyed look as he went to go inspect the cake... and found it in one piece. "You're terrible," he said accusingly. Although the fact that he was trying not to smile probably ruined the effect. Let's face it, if their situations were reversed, he probably would have done the same.

"I'm pretty sure you meant 'awesome,'" Karla said helpfully. "It's okay though. I know."

"Oh, I know what I meant," Bobby wagged a finger at her. He then glanced around to make sure a certain person in the room was otherwise occupied before abruptly switching topics. "Listen," he said, "there's something I need to talk to you about..."

Karla raised an eyebrow at this, amused by the sudden conspiratorial nature. "Darkness, Bobby," she said, laughing a bit. "Engagement and Bobina aside, this is all so sudden. What would Warren and Sookie say?"

Teasing aside, she moved in a bit so he could lower his voice. "No, seriously, what's up?"

"Raven's birthday's in a little over a week," he told her. "And from what I saw of Azarath, they didn't really seem like party people. Which means, obviously, that she deserves an awesome one here."

"It's like you read my mind," Karla said. "I think Sookie's rubbing off on you. Because, yeah, she's never had one before and she deserves a great party."

"I figured you'd be the go-to girl with that," Bobby grinned. "But I'm totally willing to help with... whatever's needed." Raven had done a lot for him, the least he could do was help make sure she had a good birthday.

Karla beamed. Being the go-to girl for party-planning purposes was awesome. "Oooh, maybe you could rig up some kind of winter wonderland? We could have it outside, I could keep things warm and you could keep the ice cold?"

"I could probably do that," Bobby agreed. "If you'd agree to take credit for it?" Even though certain people would be able to figure it out anyway. He was just a little extra-twitchy about the subject given certain developments back home.

Karla looked surprised for a minute, and then her eyes softened. "Of course," she said. Then struck an arrogant pose and winked at him. "Are you kidding? I'm amazing with Craft. Why would anyone doubt that?"
