Fifth Floor Common Room, Sunday afternoon

After spending part of yesterday giving his equipment a solid field test as he learned how to fight a giant robot, Bruce felt that today was a good day for quiet reflection, a short break from training, and watching a couple hours of shows about real life crimes on the Biography Channel. He wasn't sure why there was a two hour block of crime shows between Finding Hulk Hogan and I Survived... or if this was a regular thing, but it gave him something to focus on and take notes about discreetly in a small notebook.

Yes, this is how he liked to spend lazy Sundays.

Roy was in search of food.

This was pretty much standard. He was, after all, despite everything, still a teenage boy. "Hey, Bruce," he said, since calling Bruce 'dude' or 'bro' or any of those other normal things would have been extremely weird. "How's it hanging?" That even felt wrong.

Well, he was favoring one shoulder a little after a handwavey fall during 'the excitement,' but he didn't think Bruce would care about that. "Good, good," Roy said. "Got to shoot some...goblins."

"Gyms are boring," Roy scoffed. Even if the one here was pretty good, as far as gyms not designed for the needs of a superhero went.

Peter was bruised, but smiling when he showed up in the common room. He grabbed a can of soda from the fridge and sat down on a couch.

"Huh. Big on true crime stuff?" he asked.

"You know, I've heard that teacher is kind of a hardass," Peter said. "Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. How's the class, over all?"

"...So he was that confident in his abilities he got his name changed?" Peter asked, thinking the guy was just a giant egotist.

"...ow," Peter said. "I just ran through a real-life Tunnels and Trolls adventure and that concept still hurts my brain."

He took a sip of his soda. "So... drug habit?"

"Bruce!" Rilla cried happily when she saw him. "Did you get the hat I left? I was in such a hurry that I was afraid I might have put it by the wrong door."

[identity profile] rilla-myrilla.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"You're very welcome," Rilla said, blushing slightly. "How have you been? I've been holed up inside for the last week."

Aside from gorging herself on peach cobbler, of course.

"You went out in all of that?" Rilla looked very impressed. "You're like a storybook hero!"

[identity profile] rilla-myrilla.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"And made it out again," Rilla said. "I've read my Greek myths--that is no small feat."

Though Ariel had been missing the great new friends she had made exploring the labyrinth like she probably wasn't supposed to, she figured it was probably for the best how things turned out and then it was back to another week of school before she had to go home for a bit, so she'd have to make the most of it before she was stuck in a tail until the next semester.

Which meant bouncing into the common room and seeing what was going on.

And, of course, commenting on.

She let out a groan as she dropped down on the couch, after having grabbed a tub of ice cream from the freezer (it was this neat Japanese kind from Turtle & Canary that was flavored like seaweed!).

"Please tell me you're not actually watching something boring again, Bruce."

"What is it?" Ariel asked, tilting her head and savoring a bite of ice cream a moment.

"Oh, want some ice cream? I will so end up going through this whole thing if I don't get someone else to eat it, too."

A pause, and then, "This reminds me of Mr. Holmes' class."

Another pause. "The show, not the ice cream."

"Hey, do you think there's some chocolate sauce in the freezer?"

Someone was feeling restless, yes.

"Oh, right," Ariel said with a nod. "You're not that into sweets. But this is a little different. It's seaweed ice cream, see? Not too sweet at all."

Pause.

"Thus the chocolate sauce."
