Sov brought a radio and a soldering iron into the common room. The radio wasn't strictly necessary, but it was Sov's most priced possession and they wanted to show it to Tony, if nothing else as an example of the type of technology they were used to. They placed the things on the table and sat down, waiting for their friend to show up. They might have been a little early. Tony's promise to show them how to build a radio was important, after all.

[Sov and Tony are going to be nerdy, but it's a very open common room.]

"More modern? What would that be?" Sooorry!

Tony's eyes lit up and he scooted closer. "I was thinking we could add a wifi connection so you could listen to even more radio connections," he said. "And then, maybe boosting the receiver capabilities for areas without that."

Sov didn't have a clue what that meant. "Oh, that'd be great!" Because the expression on Tony's face communicated that it would be incredibly awesome.

Of course it was awesome. It was letting Tony dork out over his inventions.

"Then this might take longer than a week," Tony warned him.

"I'm not in a hurry," Sov said. "I want to understand what we're doing." They picked up a piece of wire. "This is what you use with the soldering iron, right?"

Tony nodded. "You touch it to the copper to make it malleable enough to attach," he replied, grabbing the board and scooting closer to point out where to attach it.

Sov leaned over the board to make sure they saw the right spot, then reached for the soldering iron. "Like this?"

"Exactly." Tony kept a close eye on Sov's work, in case anything went wrong and tried to kill them.

Not that it had happened to him. Yet.

Sov didn't expect anything to kill them. And they were better with a soldering iron than they had been with the tools in the carpentry workshop, although that might be because this was more important. Yes.

"And where should this be connected?" Sov pointed at the other end of the wire.

"Over--" Tony bit his lip, re-doing his mental design plan. "--here. To keep the power system streamlined."

"Ok." Sov wasn't sure they understood that, but at this point it didn't matter. They went on to connect the other end of the wire, taking time to do so properly.

"I can draw up the schematics tonight so you can see what I mean," Tony offered.

"Oh," Sov said. "That'd be... I'd appreciate it."

They were really lucky to have found such a good friend so quickly! Sov smiled brightly at Tony.
