Third Floor Common Room, Sunday Afternoon

Sov brought a radio and a soldering iron into the common room. The radio wasn't strictly necessary, but it was Sov's most priced possession and they wanted to show it to Tony, if nothing else as an example of the type of technology they were used to. They placed the things on the table and sat down, waiting for their friend to show up. They might have been a little early. Tony's promise to show them how to build a radio was important, after all.

[Sov and Tony are going to be nerdy, but it's a very open common room.]

"Lawyer," Tony corrected, clearing his throat. "She's my best friend's mom, so it's not like I was shipped off to boarding school..."

He trailed off for a moment.

"Not in a bad way?"

"No, I get that," Peter said. "I mean, my mom pitched this place as a more challenging curriculum so maybe I might actually feel challenged and stay in school."

Peter grinned. "She wasn't quite right on the challenge. But the school was definitely interesting enough that I didn't drop out."

"Seriously?" Tony sighed. "I know, right? It's nice, but even the college level classes are boring."

That's because Tony was totally not doing his computer based classes for the conventional subjects. Ew. History.

"So now's the important question," Peter said. "What did you think of the first week of classes?"

Because he honestly wanted to know the guy's reaction.

"Chemistry was... seriously?"

"Who's teaching that one, Kūkaku?" Peter said. "She's an interesting teacher."

"She wants me to blow things up as homework."

"Is this a bad thing?" Peter asked, amused.

[identity profile] hoorayimrich.livejournal.com 2011-01-09 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, yeah. I kinda thought the class would involve more interesting chemistry."

Anyone could blow things up.

"Fair enough," Peter said, thinking it a decent reason to be disappointed. "Still, can't complain too much about the teacher, right? I mean, for purely hormonal reasons, but still."

Tony turned a bit red. "Yeah, there is that."

Awww, how cute.

"But yeah, she's a good teacher," Peter said. "Don't let her think you're slacking off, and you'll do well enough. And I think she knows a lot more than she lets on, so ask a lot of questions."

[identity profile] hoorayimrich.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe. It might get better in the next class," Tony admitted.

"We can always hope," Peter said, gesturing with his hands like he so often did. "And if not, then it's just up to the really smart kids to find their own challenges."

"I don't think I'll be short of that," Tony assured him.
