Fifth Floor Common Room [Sunday morning]

After so many requests for pancakes from her own children yesterday morning, Sookie figured that might be a theme for the weekend. And when she woke up, and Henry wasn't gone, at least, she'd run out to get a few supplies before returning to the common room to see what she could put together. (Though, of course, Henry had insisted on coming with her once he realized she was Going to the Store and he might Get Stuff.)

It clearly just wasn't her own children she was worried about, here, Drake/di Glacia/Stackhouse appetites aside. Sookie had bought enough things to make breakfast for pretty much any kids (and parents) who showed up. She was setting to work on the pancakes, but in other pans she was busily scrambling eggs and frying up some bacon. She'd also made a point to buy orange and apple juice and milk both chocolate and white, because there was no way in hell she was letting more of those kids just drink coffee. She didn't care if it was for a weekend, it was just irresponsible.

"Hey, you guys don't have to tell me twice that free pancakes are awesome," Ariel quirked an eyebrow at the kids and just had to wonder how different she might have been in these two possible brain-hurting futures. "Sookie?" Still, her eyes easily went appreciatively to one of the few 'adults' in the room. "Is this your doing? If so, you're amazing."

"I'm not letting these guys live on coffee and cookies," Sookie said with a little smile as she took in the two kids. "You guys hungry? Because you, sir, are right, it's very important to start your day with breakfast! Otherwise your brain can get all foggy and you get tired by lunchtime!"

"Very hungry!" said Melody, dramatically, slumping against the couch as if she was just wasting away.

"All Mom really has in her room is Cheetos and chocolate," Bruce added helpfully with a reproachful look at Ariel.

Ariel wished Bruce would stop looking at her like she was a hypocrite or something. It made her think that she probably didn't let him have junk food all the time or something.

"We were going to grab something from the bakery on the way into town," Ariel admitted, "but this would probably be a lot better for them, if you don't mind, Sookie."

"Of course," Sookie assured her, grinning over. "Seriously, Emma gave one of my kids coffee yesterday -- " two of them, actually, not that Sookie knew that " -- so I figured that rather than letting these kids eat those things that are okay for grownups," and there was a look at Bruce Jr. there, "because we're done growing, I'd make something that might actually be decently good for them."

"I'm Henry!" Henry announced, because he knew that it was important and polite to introduce yourself. "What's your names?"

Recognizing Emma's name in what the blonde lady said, Melody's eyes went a little wide and she looked a bit nervously toward her mother before deciding she'd definitely have to do this right. She cleared her throat and lifted herself up from the support of the arm of the couch and said, ducking into a curtsy, "I am Princess Melody," she pronounced as she'd been trained to do. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Henry."

Melody's little formal introduction got a bit of a look from Bruce, but he was just as important as any princess so he offered confidently, "And my name is Bruce. Bruce Wayne." IMPORTANT PAUSE. "Junior."

Sookie gave Melody a little curtsy as well, trying not to laugh. (Henry bowed. Sort of. Well, he tried.) "I know your dad, Bruce," she added with a little nod. "Nice to meet you both."

"I'm five!" Henry announced, as Sookie made sure both the kids had a plate, because this was the next important step in the kid hierarchy. "How old are you?"

A pause, and then, "Five and a half."

"...Everyone knows my dad," Bruce pointed out, with a bit of an arched eyebrow. His dad was Bruce Wayne Sr, duh! "And I'm seven."

"And I'm ten," Melody offered, and then giggled a little as she reached over to ruffle Bruce's hair. "That makes Bruce my little brother."

Ariel...was just going to stop trying to explain that one, but she couldn't help the slight grunt and rubbing her forehead because it even made her own head hurt.

Sookie stifled a giggle, since she was sure she'd be running up against something similar once Henry really started talking to one of his other multitudes of half-siblings.

"I'm almost as big as you," Henry assured Bruce. "Your daddy's famous? My daddy's name is Bobby. He's kinda famous, too."

Sometimes Henry just liked to talk.

"I've never heard of him." Bruce felt the need to point that out. Granted, he was seven, so, as much as he liked to think otherwise, he really didn't know that many people.

Although, sometimes, Aquaman was his babysitter. His favorite babysitter.

"My dad's a prince."

Melody just threw that in because she felt she should be part of the conversation, too, although, really, pancakes were much more interesting that two silly little boys.

"My mama's a princess!" Henry added importantly, pointing to Sookie.

"Only sort of, Henry," Sookie corrected, sighing. "Don't tell everyone that."

"You are?" asked Melody, smiling up at the blonde lady, but not feeling too terribly surprised if she was one.

"...You are?" Ariel unintentionally echoed, blinking at Sookie in surprise and feeling bad because she had no idea.

"I have some long-lost relatives of the royal variety," Sookie simplified, shrugging. "My great-grandfather's a prince."

"Which means I'm kinda a prince, too," Henry added. "Great-great-great-great-great-great-great-Grandpa said so!"

...it didn't need that many greats.

"That's a lot of greats," Melody observed, as one might when talking to a little kid who clearly had no idea what he was talking about. But it was cute, and he was kind of a prince, and she didn't want her mom getting mad at her, so she'd be as nice as she could about it.

And Bruce had been keeping track on his fingers. "How would he still be alive to tell you?" he wondered. "Or is it more time travel stuff, like this?"
