Fifth Floor Common Room [Sunday morning]
After so many requests for pancakes from her own children yesterday morning, Sookie figured that might be a theme for the weekend. And when she woke up, and Henry wasn't gone, at least, she'd run out to get a few supplies before returning to the common room to see what she could put together. (Though, of course, Henry had insisted on coming with her once he realized she was Going to the Store and he might Get Stuff.)
It clearly just wasn't her own children she was worried about, here, Drake/di Glacia/Stackhouse appetites aside. Sookie had bought enough things to make breakfast for pretty much any kids (and parents) who showed up. She was setting to work on the pancakes, but in other pans she was busily scrambling eggs and frying up some bacon. She'd also made a point to buy orange and apple juice and milk both chocolate and white, because there was no way in hell she was letting more of those kids just drink coffee. She didn't care if it was for a weekend, it was just irresponsible.
[open common room! come have breakfast!]

"What are you doing?"

Henry, from where he was seated, added, "With pancakes!" excitedly.
"Would you like some?" Sookie offered, as her son went back to his own food.

So she shunted her tiny spark of disappointment aside and jogged up along the common rooms until she found some people cooking. She didn't say anything - she stayed near the stairs, watching rather than interfering.

"Good morning," he greeted.
"MORNING!" Des echoed cheerfully. "Oooooh pancakes and eggs and bacon! Can I have some?"

"Hi!" she said to the lady who was cooking pancakes. "I'm Lian and I'm five." There, now they weren't strangers any more. "Can I have some pancakes?" What did we say, Lian? "Please?"

wailcall to find out where the baby-mamas and/or daddies of several of her were, Karla led a line of seven children in mismatched clothing up to the fifth floor. It might have looked like a line of ducklings in oversized attire with her in the lead. Facepalming."Please tell me there is enough for all of us," she begged Sookie as soon as she stepped in.
"Kiss kiss!" chirped several piping voices behind her. Kayla, she could pick out. And Jaenelle Mara. Definitely Dahlia, too. And she was pretty sure that was Nommy.
Hell's fire and Mother Night. Why did they all have to constantly prove they were hers?

She had the vague idea of cooking up a batch of gingerbread men, and animating them to entertain the children. But upon entering the common room, she saw that the kitchen had already been dibsed.
"Morning kids." she smiled. "And good morning to our visitors as well."

"Excuse me," he said softly, pushing his glasses up on his nose as he walked into the room with Miraya in step beside him, "can we have some pancakes too, please?"
Miraya kept quiet for now, but she looked like she'd be ready to kick up a fuss on both their behalfs if the answer was no.

"Pancakes!" she announced happily.
"Sylvie, what do you say?" Rinoa nudged.
"I want some pancakes," Sylvie explained, to whoever looked like they were in charge.
Rinoa facepalmed. Apparently, they were still working on 'please.'

Squall just prodded him in the back to try to get the kid farther into the room. Where there were people who might actually LIKE children. "Schedules can be flexible," he told Tempest. It was an important lesson to learn, after all.
"But I don't LIIIIIKE that! Schedules are asposed to be... ooh, are those pancakes?"
no subject
Sylvie lived to antagonize Tempest. And apparently be a hypocrite, since she'd forgotten 'please' herself. (And received pancakes from the nice lady anyway, but Tempest didn't have to know that.)
