Fifth Floor Common Room [Sunday morning]

After so many requests for pancakes from her own children yesterday morning, Sookie figured that might be a theme for the weekend. And when she woke up, and Henry wasn't gone, at least, she'd run out to get a few supplies before returning to the common room to see what she could put together. (Though, of course, Henry had insisted on coming with her once he realized she was Going to the Store and he might Get Stuff.)

It clearly just wasn't her own children she was worried about, here, Drake/di Glacia/Stackhouse appetites aside. Sookie had bought enough things to make breakfast for pretty much any kids (and parents) who showed up. She was setting to work on the pancakes, but in other pans she was busily scrambling eggs and frying up some bacon. She'd also made a point to buy orange and apple juice and milk both chocolate and white, because there was no way in hell she was letting more of those kids just drink coffee. She didn't care if it was for a weekend, it was just irresponsible.

[open common room! come have breakfast!]

"That's a really big dog," Melody couldn't help noting. "Does he want pancakes? I bet he'd eat a lot of pancakes, there might not be enough."

"He enjoys bones and chasing the mutated deer," Ahura replied with a nod. "But I do not believe he would say no to 'pan-cakes'."

"We could put Cheetos in them," Melody mused, clearly her mother's daughter. "That would make it crunchy like bones so he still had the same effect, you know? What's his name?"

[identity profile] aforbiddenchild.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Lockjaw." How was he to follow that train of thought? "I have no knowledge of these cheetos. Are they similar to pancakes?"

"Lockjaw," Melody repeated, tilting her head thoughtfully at the dog as if deciding if it fit him. She decided it was good enough, nodded, and shrugged. "Not really. Cheetos are cheesy and crunchy and little, but pancakes....aren't. They're good, though! Mom has to get them specially imported, and sometimes they turn your fingers orange..."

And then you got caught.

"They mark you for eating it?" He did not wish to be marked, Melody.

"It's just the cheese," Melody assured him. "You can usually lick it right off, or just wash your hands."

[identity profile] aforbiddenchild.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Licking sounded very undignified. "I would allow Lockjaw to clean my hands then."

HE WOULD LIKE THAT.

"Ohhh, that's a great idea!" Melody decided. "That way, both of you would get a chance to enjoy them."

"He enjoys human food," Ahura confided quietly. "And walks."

Because he was still a child.

"He looked big enough that he could take you for walks!" Melody noted with a laugh. "Or a ride, like a pony!"

[identity profile] aforbiddenchild.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"He does transport me around."

[identity profile] shes-got-fins.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really?" Melody asked, clearly getting an idea sparking in her head as she eyed Lockjaw, and then turned an eager smile on the boy. "Do you think I could ride on him, too?"

[identity profile] aforbiddenchild.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm not certain he'd even notice." Oh, pony sized dog.

"Only one way to find out!" Melody noted, and the next thing she knew, she was out in the hallway, trying to climb on top of the giant dog.
