The Deck [Sunday, Late Morning]
Obligatory holiday call to Ellie down, and Chuck had taken his book and a 'breakfast' of a glass of Jelly Beans outside and found the he could add Peeps to the menu (so long as he was quick enough to get hold of them before the three second rule applied). The island didn't want him to be healthy today, so who was he to try and derail that plan? Seemed awesome to him.
He didn't have any grand ideas for ways to spend the day, so he was keeping it simple flopped out on a lounger with a book. It was pretty decent out for now, and he'd decided to relax and enjoy it.
"Eddard, " he mumbled through a mouthful of Peep, "you don't let your kids keep a direwolf, that's a terrible idea..." Even while reading, Chuck was physically unable to keep from talking, even if no one was likely to be listening.
[[Yeah, this would be a combination of Method RP and canon. Open!]]

"I'm thinking, if anything, the radiation would morph them all into some giant mutant marshmallow blob-type monster that absorbs everything. Like gelatinous cube, you know?" Maybe Percy wasn't quite the nerd Chuck was.

"Extrapolating from the amount of times I've puffed them up in microwaves," Chuck answered, shrugging and popping it into his mouth. It was about equal to the number of times Ellie had made him scrub out the inside of said microwave. "And then adding a bit of... Fandom."

"But I have not put any thought into what radiation would do to those... Which I'm guessing is probably normal." Which Chuck was not, really.
"My theories pretty much end at Peeps."

He stood up to toss the Peep away and turned to try and sit back down when he noticed the Cadbury Egg in his seat. "...you didn't put this there, did you?"
Percy picked the chocolate egg up and showed it to Chuck. "You're not the Easter Bunny, are you?" That was less serious than the previous question.

... "I'm kidding." Around here, and with someone who didn't know you had to clarify. "That was nothing to do with me," Chuck promised.

... And probably having a similarly unhealthy breakfast.

"Being a girl was just awkward." And yeah, like Percy, he could do without repeating that experience.

Because the last time there had been impossible offspring of his own and he didn't want to think about it much.
"Kids are awesome, when they aren't terrifyingly and really suddenly mine."

And here, it really could.

"I try not to tempt fate." Because now it had been said, of course Chuck was going to worry about it. Thanks Percy, for that neurosis.
"It wouldn't do that on the first Monday of break... Right?"

So if there was one, Chuck probably wouldn't be able to do it right.
"I think I'll risk it." It was only kids. They'd be gone in a few days to wherever they came from. The foot he might break trying to dance would be worse.

"You're the one who said it, aren't you at all worried?"

"How not so good is not so good?" he asked after a few moments.

Him and his extremely low pain threshold found the absence of injury a happier thought.
"The kid, not the-- wait, dad?" Heeey, he wasn't the only one with completely impossible future offspring. Comforting!
