3rd Floor Common Room | Wednesday Evening

After an oh so trying day of class (not really) Luke felt a night sitting in front of the TV and raiding the common room pantry was in order. After a long and tedious search (not really) he came up with a bag of cookies and an episode of Man vs. Food on TV. The episode was set in Baltimore and it had Luke tempted to use the portal at the end of the Causeway and try stuffing his face with some of this stuff.

For now he'd just stick with the cookies though.

[Open, of course]

After struggling with a bookshelf that seemed to find sheer joy in dumping the entire works of Shakespeare on Alexander's head several times, he was ready to just sort of veg out and not do anything for a while. He intended to go just to his room, but a little rumble in his stomach made him divert his course a little.

He nodded a greeting to those already there before heading to the cabinet and pulling out a box for macaroni and cheese.

"Thank goodness for modern conveniences," he commented; it was blissful to be able to make a meal without even much work...

"And to think this is significantly less effort than what I usual put in," Alexander commented with a chuckle. "Would you like some? It would be easy enough to double the batch, I should think."

FOOD. Topher was a big fan of food. Which was why he'd spent the afternoon and evening looting the various common rooms in search of snacks.

"Cookies," he said, pointing as he flopped down on the couch.

That was a request, Luke, yes.

But... but... but he wanted!

"Could I, uh." He cleared his throat. "Could I get some?"

Wow! Manners! That was new.

"I'm making some macaroni and cheese, as well," offered Alexander from where he was implementing far more than what a box of it called for in the kitchette, "if you're interested."

Um, only always.

"Bring it on," Topher announced, kicking back. "Unless the viking-roleplay-World-of-Warcraft dudes outside made it, in which case I'm gona have to pass."

Alexander wasn't sure he understood a good portion of that, but he did get that viking was the important part and he chuckled.

"Not at all. It's made by me. I'm taking a little artistic license with it, too; making it a bit more cheesy, a bit more flavor. These boxed meals are quite convenient, but they lack a little in taste, I feel."

Juliet was in the common room because it offered food and the occasional cute person. She seemed to be two for two today.

"Are you watching anything interesting?" she asked, as she perched in a chair with a magazine and a bowl of grapes.

[identity profile] twintuitionist.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Gross," Juliet said, primly.

Then: "And yes. Do they throw up on camera?"

[identity profile] daventryprince.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
"There will be macaroni and cheese in a little while," Alexander offered Juliet with a smile from the kitchette, "if you're interested."

Apparently, feeding everyone was how he relaxed.

[identity profile] twintuitionist.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd like a little," Juliet said, glancing over. "You honestly don't mind sharing?"

[identity profile] daventryprince.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Not at all," Alexander said with a chuckle. "I wouldn't have offered if I did, and, besides, it would be rather unkind to cook food only for myself in a room full of people."

Dave was almost surprised to find that his common room was actually nice and packed. He'd heard so much about the awesomeness of the third floor, but this was his chance to witness it.

"Hi," Dave said, maybe a little too excited at seeing his floor in action. And then his excitement was changed to wonder when he looked at the TV. "What is that guy eating?"

[identity profile] iwishiwasbig.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"And a quick follow-up question," Dave said. "Why?"

Dave honestly couldn't work it out. He was an innocent uncorrupted by reality television as of yet.

[identity profile] daventryprince.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
"He's got steaks," Alexander noted, waving a wooden spoon from the kitchenette, "but we're got macaroni and cheese, too, if you'd like to partake."

Especially since his single serving for himself was happily building into enough for a small army.

[identity profile] iwishiwasbig.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
"That would be great, actually," Dave said. "I probably can't eat as much as that guy, though."

[identity profile] daventryprince.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
"In the spirit of the program," Alexander laughed, "I feel like you've only just build me up to challenge you to that. But I'm pretty sure I would actually rather not see you try. No offense meant, of course."
