The Deck ; Tuesday Evening
So, they were in Egypt now. Right, Sam was just going to stop trying to make sense of this magically moving island and it's time traveling ways. He wasn't even going to try explaining it to Ramon and Frank because all he'd get were blank looks and concern that was finally cracking up after everything that had happened the past few months.
Yeah, Sam was just going to keep the nature of the island to himself. It was bad enough Ashley and Brooke could pop up at anytime and pester him until he explained. That was more Brooke than Ashley since Ashley's patience wasn't that long.
The good thing about Egypt was that the weather had warmed up a lot and now he could sit outside on the deck with his feet propped up in front of him. His skateboard was underneath his chair and was getting a break after Sam had ridden it all through town earlier. It wasn't running but maybe he was working up to that.
It was just taking him awhile. Most things did.

She grabbed a book and headed out to sit on the deck and enjoy the evening. She smiled at Sam, then frowned when her nose caught a hint of - what was that? He smelled - no, it must just be some little thing that had crawled under the deck and died, probably nobody but her would notice the smell anyway.
"Hey, Sam."

"Hey, how's it going?" Sam asked, taking his eyes off the sky to give Mercy a brief wave. "Taking advantage of the non Iceland temperatures too?"

"I'm more used to chilly and rainy so Iceland wasn't bad but I'm good with putting my winter clothes away for awhile. It's freaking May, after all."

"What do you think, better than Iceland?" she greeted him.

Spirits coming at him in the night tended to do that to a guy. Luckily, he was getting more used to those nightly visitors.

He was teasing, Annie, he promised.

And he was still regretting not taking that class. It might have been a little too open and exposed for him currently but zombies were right up his alley.
"I, on the other hand, have had to put a bookcase together without instructions and have done enough running to make my lungs pretty much hate me. I think I might have to retire from being interesting."

unless this post is already post sunset, la."Hey," he greeted the kid he recognized from Professor Skywalker's class earlier. "Not wasting any time when it comes to getting out and enjoying the climate, I see."

She meandered out to the deck, magazine in hand, and claimed a spot on a comfortable deck chair.

[Sorry about that, I crashed a bit before this ping came in!]
