Fifth Floor Common Room, Saturday night

While the student council races seemed to be starting up, Bruce had done his best to ignore them as he went about the day. It wasn't easy - there was a cupcake waiting for him this morning, then posters on the way to the gym and even some in the bathroom. But for the most part, he just spent the day training as much as he could while ignoring everything else going on.

But doing that all day led to some exhaustion, and even Bruce needed a break. The television seemed to be taunting him a little, though, as it showed episodes of Hoarders. Yes, yes, he had an area in a hidden cave where he was keeping some personal trophies from his time in Fandom, including things that had virtually no significance, even to him. That didn't mean he was a hoarder, A&E. It just meant that he was nostalgic.

He could stop any time he wanted. And he would, too! Just not now.

"You're missing out, then," Bruce said. "Sometimes it feels good to make something with your own hands."

Not that Bruce made baskets. Just utility belts and weapons and gadgets. Same principle, though.

"What's the point of it feeling good if it's a waste of time?" Jocelyn asked.

"What, you don't do anything just for fun?" Bruce asked.

Even he did things just for fun. On occasion.

"At home, yeah, I guess." She shrugged. "But we're still underage. We've got more freedom than adults."

"I don't see why that keeps you from doing more pointless things for fun here," Bruce said.

She shrugged. "It doesn't. I just don't want to get in the habit of it."

"It doesn't have to be habit forming," Bruce said. "Have you even been to Fast Eddie's?" It was a place where he could 'have fun' while actually strengthening certain skills. And, in the event of some kind of invasion, he would have a variety of makeshift weapons.

Yes, he thought those things through.

"I've run by it," Jocelyn admitted. "It's a bowling alley, right?"

"Bowling alley, pool hall. They have a few things there." Dance Dance Revolution, which Bruce DOMINATED. "You can easily blow a couple hours there, especially if you have some company. If you're ever interested, the you're free to join me."

"Sounds like it wouldn't be too habit-forming," Jocelyn admitted, smiling over at him. "Sure, I'd like that. I even know how to play pool."

"How does Monday after classes sound?" Bruce asked.

And her interest in mildly sociopathic rich guys seemed destined to continue.

"Sure," she agreed then added in a joking tone. "It'll be a continuation of my 'cultural understanding' class."

"I promise that I'm an excellent tutor," Bruce said.
