Tea for Quinn + Wesley, Dorm Lawn, Friday Midday
Quinn put her hands on her hips and surveyed the lawn beside the dorm with satisfaction. The tea party for the Fabray/Wyndam-Pryce ticket didn't look bad at all, she thought. They'd cordoned off an area with red, gold and black balloons and stuck campaign signs in the ground, and there was a buffet of herbal tea, scones, fruit, and finger sandwiches for everyone to nibble.
They hadn't known about the debate when they planned this, but really, it was a perfect companion event -- a little lower-key chance to polish their lines and make sure they'd connect with the voters.
Pasting on a smile, she stood near the front of the space and waited for potential voters to wander past.

MEET THE CANDIDATES
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
Anyhow, Quinn was around and absolutely refusing to be nervous. Even if she did wish they'd been able to track down some decent coffee.
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
"What's this?" she asked, though by the looks of things and that sinking feeling in her stomach, she already knew.
[I'm sorry, I HAD to.]
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
Totally different.
She managed a smile anyhow. "It's a campaign tea for Wesley and me," she said. "Want a scone?"
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
"You teamed up?" she croaked out. "In a three-person race, you two teamed up? When he doesn't even want to be running?"
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
"Right. He doesn't want to be running. He pretty much said he would drop out if I didn't carry him," she explained. "He drops out, either we get no one for the third seat, or we get some random. Whoever jumps into the race late. I work well with him. It was the best option."
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
"How does it screw you over?" Quinn asked. "You haven't asked us to your events. Besides -- there are still three seats and three people."

Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
She had absolutely no interest in running for this Student Council thing, but she had to admit, she was terribly interested in the people who were and their...er...dedication to the cause.
"What a lovely little tea party," she offered conversationally. "My compliments to the hosts."
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
Wesley was English. He was officially therefore a tea party expert.
"Are you planning on voting next week?"
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
Sometimes a little more on top of things than Quinn would like, really.
"It's more of a ... friendly competition. There are only three candidates and three seats."
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
And maybe she just liked to mention it to make the other girls sweat a little.
"I know Mother would certainly wish for me to run. Alexander was in Student Council; I'm certain she feels I should keep up the tradition."
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
"It might be too late to start," she said evenly. "I know Annie's been all over the place, and Wesley and I have been doing our best. But hey, competition's a good thing."
No, it wasn't.
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
It was pretty much exactly the same reaction Claudia had had to the cupcake left on her desk last weekend. She wasn't really good at following school politics.

Also, he was on the lookout for Kenzi. So that he could shoo her away, should she try to crash.
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
Yeah, good luck with that, Wes.
"Could you be a little more dorkier if you worked at it?"
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
Uh, duh.
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
Re: MEET THE CANDIDATES
"Kenzi," he encouraged, trying to appeal to her sense of little sister-ness. Then, having nothing else constructive to say, he only near-whined, "Please?"
...He'd never been very good at getting people to do anything. Especially of the strong-willed teenage girl variety. Which was really how he'd ended up at Fandom!
