Tea for Quinn + Wesley, Dorm Lawn, Friday Midday

Quinn put her hands on her hips and surveyed the lawn beside the dorm with satisfaction. The tea party for the Fabray/Wyndam-Pryce ticket didn't look bad at all, she thought. They'd cordoned off an area with red, gold and black balloons and stuck campaign signs in the ground, and there was a buffet of herbal tea, scones, fruit, and finger sandwiches for everyone to nibble.

They hadn't known about the debate when they planned this, but really, it was a perfect companion event -- a little lower-key chance to polish their lines and make sure they'd connect with the voters.

Pasting on a smile, she stood near the front of the space and waited for potential voters to wander past.

Annie had been coming back from another supply run, and it was a little hard to miss the setup.

"What's this?" she asked, though by the looks of things and that sinking feeling in her stomach, she already knew.

[I'm sorry, I HAD to.]

A scone was not going to help this, Annie decided.

"You teamed up?" she croaked out. "In a three-person race, you two teamed up? When he doesn't even want to be running?"

"So what? I'd rather no one on that seat than someone who doesn't want to be there," Annie replied. "It's the best option for who, you? Because it looks a lot like both of you screwing me over."

A bit of observance and consideration certainly helped Rosella narrow down one of the hosts of the events and, smiling a little, she made her way over.

She had absolutely no interest in running for this Student Council thing, but she had to admit, she was terribly interested in the people who were and their...er...dedication to the cause.

"What a lovely little tea party," she offered conversationally. "My compliments to the hosts."

"I am," Rosella said proudly. "It would seem like a terrible shame not to. I may be the product of monarchy, but that doesn't mean I don't have a healthy respect for democracy. The only trouble, of course, will be knowing who to vote for."

"Ah, yes," Rosella noted thoughtfully. "I remember discussing with Annie about the prospects. One almost wonders what all the fuss is about if the three seats are pretty much confirmed with only three candidates. It's almost enough to inspire someone else to run, if only to make things a bit more interesting."

And maybe she just liked to mention it to make the other girls sweat a little.

"I know Mother would certainly wish for me to run. Alexander was in Student Council; I'm certain she feels I should keep up the tradition."

"Oh, right, we have a student council."

It was pretty much exactly the same reaction Claudia had had to the cupcake left on her desk last weekend. She wasn't really good at following school politics.

"I promise if I remember to vote it'll be for you," Claudia offered.

"That would probably increase the likelihood of me remembering to vote."

The lack of caffeinated tea was unfortunate. But at least there was food! And Wesley was looking just a tad bit awkward as he hovered around and made himself available for questions.

Also, he was on the lookout for Kenzi. So that he could shoo her away, should she try to crash.

"Tea?!"

Yeah, good luck with that, Wes.

"Could you be a little more dorkier if you worked at it?"

"I enjoy tea!" That part was just a little defensive. Way to knock an entire culture, Kenzi. Sheesh. "And -- " He lowered his voice. "Quinn doesn't seem to want you to attend this event."

Uh, duh.

"My heart is bleeding purple peanut butter about that. I'll get right on a quick tactical retreat." A beat. "Oh wait. No."

Thaaaat was unfortunate. Would Bo come running if Quinn called security?

"Kenzi," he encouraged, trying to appeal to her sense of little sister-ness. Then, having nothing else constructive to say, he only near-whined, "Please?"

...He'd never been very good at getting people to do anything. Especially of the strong-willed teenage girl variety. Which was really how he'd ended up at Fandom!

"You. Are. So. Lucky. That I didn't hear about this in time to put together a hip-hop rap with 'Wes the Man' as the chorus," Kenzi pouted. She glared over at Quinn. "Promise you won't completely suck up to Quinn during the debate thingy tonight. Promise."
