Dorm Lobby | Wednesday During and After Classes

There was excitement in the air. Okay, maybe that was just the mixture of Caroline's perfume and fresh baked cookies or just the scent of fresh permanent marker emanating from the sign adorning her table in the lobby.

Her purpose was the same as the words on the poster that had been glitter-fied at the KDG meeting:

With a great big smile, Caroline was ready to do her Student Council duty and chat up anyone who looked in need of some persuasion to participate. Um, not that she was going to be using her special, vampiric talents to fill the sign up list. That would be bad, even if it would mean a seriously amazing show.

Hmm. Maybe she should just stick with the cookie bribe.

"No!" he growled, reaching for her and trying to drag her into his lap while he tickled her.

Caroline laughed, letting him pull her over even as she fought to push his hands away. "You were the one saying you wanted to wait!"

"I'm just trying to think of your friends," he rubbed at her side after a moment, content to have her closer.

"And um, how is this you thinking of my friends?" Caroline wondered, tilting her head at him.

"Can we kick them out of your room?" he asked hopefully.

"Uh, no?" Caroline's brow was creased with concern. "I only get to spend like, two days with them! I promise there will be lots of time spent making it up to you. Lots."

"Mmmmm if you insist," he sighed as he drew her a little closer. "I suppose we can manage two days."

Oh god, could they?

"Besides, it's not like you won't still be with me like, practically the whole weekend anyway." Unless someone from his pack showed up and then he'd probably want to have his own boy time and she was sort of dying to share that.

"And you think you can keep your hands off me?" he asked her teasingly, though it'd be kind of sad if she could.

"Aw, you're mean to make me try," she said, leaning against him a little.

"I don't want you to try," he said quickly, wanting that to be clear. "I'm in favour of your hands."

"Meaning I win a weekend of groping you when no one's looking?" Caroline teased. Kind of like right then, only she was pretty sure anyone who came into the lobby would notice she was sitting on his lap rather than passing out cookies.

She could pass him a cookie and have a reason to be in his lap.

Laughing, he brushed her hair behind her ear. "I wouldn't mind you groping me."

"Somehow I doubt there's anything you'd mind," she countered with an amused shake of her head.

Jake had to think on it. "Depends on who's watching. Like, no groping in front of my dad."

"Really? Because it's embarrassing or he'd get mad?" Caroline had to wonder. "And does that mean I couldn't sit here?"

"You can sit here," he leaned forward, nuzzling her neck. "But it'd be kind of weird otherwise, you know?"

"If it'd be weird otherwise, it'd be weird to have me on your lap," she pointed out. "My mother, for instance, gets that look on her face when I barely hold a guy's hand, let alone kiss in front of her." And still Caroline did it, so there.

"Well, guys are pigs. I know she'd hate the thoughts I have about you in my head," he grinned and rubbed his hand over her hip. "I'll be on my best behaviour when I meet her."

"I don't think I want to know how boring your best behavior is," she replied, thinking she'd probably end up pouting by the end of a day of that.

"In front of your mom," he eyed her. "I'm not boring. I just wouldn't be trying to get your panties off."

Which was kind of sad.

"Is that what you're trying to do now, in public no less?" Caroline wondered if it was possible. Sure Jake could be frisky, but he wasn't that bad.

He laughed and rested his chin on her shoulder. "No, but I'm willing to give it a try later."
