The Roof, Saturday Morning

Using magic on the remaining bruises from the complete moron Phobos was the goal for the day. Ikol's advice on the matter had only been mildly helpful (mostly confusing) and so he was left to his own devices on it.

This would be so much more simple had his elder-self thought to keep his knowledge of magic perfectly intact. Ugh.

For now, he sat on the roof in just his normal clothing from Asgard, hood down as he focused. People here didn't seem to realize this was a remarkably mild winter. Barely even worthy of the name 'winter' at that.

"Or I could consult any number of the books I have on the subject," Wesley pointed out. "Almost all of which rank Odin far above yourself."

"Then it's best to accept the help now rather than explain your, ah, limitations," Loki suggested. "Are you limited to just the school grounds?"

"I am not the Loki of your books." A beat. "And the All-Father is none of your concern."

"No, I can go down into the town," Anna said. "That's where I arrived. So far I only know I can't leave by the causeway. A few people suggested I might try a portal, but I'm not sure I trust those. I might try leaving through the water." Ghosts had different ideas of 'exit points' than mortals.

It made perfect sense to Loki!

"Then a job should not be concerning. It's not as though you'll be in danger of anyone finding out. They're all terribly dim here."

Loki. Be nice.

"That's not very nice," Anna chided. "They're just...not used to this sort of thing. I think one of them thought I was a vampire." She sounded rather insulted.

"It's not as though you're a Greek ghost." Somewhere... all the Greeks were either confused or sighing.

Anna was also confused! "I'm sorry," she said after a moment, "I'm not terribly up on my Greek."

"They're fed blood to appease them." A beat. "Better than flesh, I suppose."

Like the Disir.

Anna wrinkled up her nose. "No, thank you. I've never eaten anything, and I don't want to." She thought for a moment, then said, "I suppose I should find out if I can."

"Where would it go?" LOKI. He was a teenage boy still, it seemed. "No time like the present to give it a try."

Anakin had made a habit of climbing the Massassi temple on Yavin 4 when he'd been a student at the Jedi Academy.

Now that he was back at school, climbing the building seemed like a thing to do even if it wasn't the same thing, doing it by himself.

So he made it up to the roof, but not in the usual way -- a messy head of brown hair poked up over the edge of the roof just before Anakin hauled himself up over the edge and dropped down to sit.

"Oh, hi."

"I don't know," she she admitted readily. "I still have blood," though granted it was black, "so maybe I have a stomach, too?" Being a ghost raised the most interesting questions.

Loki peered over at him for a moment before deciding to comment. "Has no one told you of the existence of stairs?"

"Hello," Anna said, blinking at him. Then she suggested, "There are stairs, you know."

Loki took that moment to give her a firm prod on the arm. As though to test a theory. "I could write for a proper answer if you would like."

Hela would adore that.

His prod would find her to be solid, if cool. She responded by looking annoyed at him, then reaching over to poke him in the arm. See how he liked it. "Who would you write to for that kind of answer?"

Loki frowned, rubbing his arm. "The mistress of Hel, daughter mine."

"Oh, I know about those," Anakin said, waving a hand. "But that's the easy way. This was more fun."

"She might know," Anna agreed. "If it's any help, my curse was a deal made with a demon called Hiisi." He might have noticed by now she was not like normal ghosts.

"I'm aware," Anakin replied with a crooked smile that wasn't quite Solo-grin territory yet. "Just thought I'd see what it was like coming up the side, instead."

"And less suicidal," Loki replied dryly. "Are you that bored of this school already?"

"...why?" Anna asked, still not quite getting it.

Loki made a face at the mention of demons. Ugh, so annoying.

"Do not name it again. Some can find you simply by speaking their name. I shall ask her, though."
