It was warm enough to head to the beach but Percy wasn't feeling like walking all the way into town today. He still wanted to be in the water but the beach meant sand in his shoes and salt water in his eyes. Of course, chlorine wasn't much better but it was closer.

So, Percy took himself down to the pool and, after stripping down to his swimsuit, jumped in. He did a few lazy laps, just enjoying how being in the water immediately made him feel stronger and more at home. After those laps, he let himself sink down to the bottom of the pool.

And that's where he was now, just sitting cross legged on the bottom of the pool, having no problems with that whole breathing thing.

Son of Poseidon and all.

There were only so many places Percy could be if he wasn't in his room and with Luke's powers it wasn't all that hard to check all of those places to find him. The pool wasn't the first place he looked but he got there eventually and Luke actually almost left thinking wasn't there before he spotted him at the bottom of the water.

He wasn't really sure how to get Percy's attention without getting in the water (and he wasn't wearing a swimsuit so he wasn't about to do that voluntarily) so he just kicked off his sandals and sat on the edge of the pool, letting his legs dangle in the water.

It took Percy awhile but he did eventually see some familiar legs in the water. He stayed on the bottom of the pool for a few seconds longer before he pushed off the bottom and swam lazily to the top.

He surfaced and shook his hair, getting it away from his eyes. "Didn't expect to see you here, pool boy. Not coming in?"

He knew he wasn't.

"Not dressed for it," Luke said, figuring that was a good excuse. "I just came here to see you all wet."

"Because you haven't seen that before?" Percy asked, treading some water. "Or have you just missed it that much?"

Luke smiled and shrugged. "I might've missed it a little. It has been a while."

"Flatterer," Percy said, swimming over to the side of the pool. "How'd you figure out I was down here anyway? Not the most obvious place."

"This wasn't the first place I checked but there are really only a handful of places you could be," Luke said. "You're not that mysterious."

"And were you looking for me?" Percy cooed, smirking. "Awww. Missed me a lot!"

Luke rolled his eyes. "I was bored."

"Then, you should get a job and start saving for retirement, old man," Percy quipped easily. "Might be helpful for when you break your hip."

"What, you're not gonna take care of me when I'm older?" Luke asked. "What do I keep you around for then?"

"Hey, I'll take care of you by putting you in a very nice old folks home," Percy said, splashing some water his way.

"Brat," Luke said, splashing some water right back even though Percy was already wet. "A lying brat, for that matter. You'd totally take care of me."

"How do you figure?" Percy asked because he didn't know if he had the patience for that. "I don't think I could take care of you if you were like losing control of your bowels and stuff. Gross."

"You really think I'm gonna make it to be that old?" Luke asked. He had already croaked once, after all. "I was talking like sore muscles after sparring and stuff."

"What, so you want me to stock our fridge with steak so you can be all tough guy and put those on your sore muscles?" Percy asked, snickering. "I'd just make you take a girly bath in soap."

"I'd prefer the bath," Luke said honestly. "But you could make me a steak dinner or something. That'd make me feel better."

"Hey, I cooked for you once, I don't have to cook for you for like another year," Percy said, shaking his head. "So, get that thought outta your head or you'll just be sad when you don't get food."

"A whole year?" Luke asked, pretending to look surprised by that. "Well don't get jealous if I get someone else to cook for me during the wait."

"And who else is gonna cook for you, Luke?" Percy asked. "And if you say Kate, you're gonna end up in the water."

"Kate can't cook, I've asked," Luke said, chuckling. "Her brother can though. I'll get Marshall to do it, he likes me."

"Why can't you learn to cook for yourself?" Percy wondered. "Or learn how to dial the number to the pizza place? Cooking can't be that hard for the son of Hermes."

"Eating pizza every night would be ridiculous," Luke said, shaking his head. "And learning to cook would be hard. I prefer to have other people do it."

"Are you gonna get someone to do everything like that for you?" Percy asked. "You gonna get a maid to clean for you?"

"Hey, I can clean," he insisted. "I don't do it very often but I was in charge of cleaning the house when I was a kid and my room here isn't too gross."
