Pajama Club! - First floor lobby [Tuesday after classes]

Olive had set up the first floor lobby to accommodate the inaugural meeting of the pajama club -- setting up in this case meant making sure that there were plenty of comfy pillows and fuzzy fleece throws on the sofas, and that there was a Real Housewives marathon going on the television. On a table to the side, she'd set up a variety of cereal (though pretty much everything was colorful or chocolately or sugary. No Raisin Bran for you. Who were you people, who wanted like, Chex at Pajama Club?) as well as some milk and a set of bowls. Since it was still relatively warm out, Olive's pajamas were not particularly cozy, but they were, at least, pretty cute.

"Welcome to Pajama Club," she said, once pretty much everyone was assembled. "I'm Olive, if you didn't already know. And I'll be honest, this mostly started as a joke but I'm kind of super-glad that so many people turned out. Um, for our first meeting, I figured we'd do introductions and maybe you could share why you joined? Oh, and your favorite type of cereal, so I know what to get for meetings."

There is largely moddable cereal, and trashy TV, and plenty of pajamas to admire, surely. Also, blankies!

Arietty grabbed a few pieces of different cereals, then climbed up to perch on the back of one of the couches. It was a little bit odd to do things like scaling a couch while wearing her sock-pajamas, but, hey, she was nothing if not adaptable.

Stacey couldn't have any of the cereal, but she looked cute (http://g-lvl3.nordstromimage.com/imagegallery/store/product/Medium/8/_7089768.jpg) and was maybe watching the TV a little more closely than she'd like to admit.

Rilla was looking very uncomfortable in her very old-fashioned pyjamas and kimono wrap--she hadn't thought boys would be here!

Sholeh also looked uncomfortable, wearing a long, white nightgown with ribbons at the throat and wrists and hem--which hit her ankles, of course.

"There sure are a lot of people here, huh?" she said to Rilla. Meaning boys.

As far as breakfast cereals went, Sholeh was only familiar with things like Raisin Bran, because it was one of the few cereals that contained foods she recognized. These are were bright and colorful and perhaps not entirely natural.

So she was going to spend the first few minutes staring awkwardly at the cereals provided, trying to figure out which one to try first.

"I'll start," Olive said, because she probably should. "I'm Olive Penderghast, I'm here because I'm the genius who made up this club, you're welcome, and I'm partial to Cap'n Crunch."

"I'm Arietty Clock!" Arietty said, waving her hand in the air to make sure people could figure out where she was. "I'm here because it seemed like much more fun than lacrosse, and I haven't tried that many cereals, but these big loopy colorful things are really tasty."

She had a purple Fruit Loop in her lap. She could practically rest her chin on it.

"Toby Logan," Toby gave a little wave. "I'm here 'cause who doesn't love the idea of hanging out in pyjamas?" His were, for the record, a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt (that had clearly seen better days) with "LIFEGUARD" written across the front in large block letters. "I don't know if it counts, exactly, but I've always wanted to try Cookie Crisp?" Those commercials made it look downright amazing, okay.

"What is wrong with you that you haven't had Cookie Crisp?" Olive asked, then narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "Do you not have it in Canada? Oh, Canada, what the hell."

Juliet, who was sitting with her legs folded Indian style underneath her and a bowl of cereal propped on her thighs, gave a quick wave when her turn came. Her pajamas were a fitted ivory t-shirt and a pair of pink striped fleece pajama pants.

"I'm Juliet," she said. "I'm here because it sounds like all the not-lame parts of sorority, and my favorite cereal is Lucky Charms. Especially the marshmallows."

"I'm Peeta Mellark," he started. "I'm here because the idea of this club seemed fun and it was the only club I think I'm suited for."

Lacrosse would have crushed him. Peeta was much better at chilling in his well worn pajama pants and white t-shirt.
