Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

Jeremy was just intending to have a nice night in. He'd ordered pizza (more than one – there was plenty to share), he was wearing comfy (yet still ridiculously expensive) clothes, and he was all ready to spend his evening in the common room, watching something nice and maybe even holiday themed on the TV, and chatting with his fellow students should they be drawn in by the totally amazing smell of pizza.

But then he flopped down on the couch and turned the TV on. And found that there was nothing but cycling on. On any channel. Granted, this time around it was at least a bit different on each channel: old races, new races, people just leisurely biking to places, and the odd bit of bicycle maintenance advice. But that didn't really help Jeremy who was frowning at the TV and clicking through channels like maybe one of them actually offered something he'd want to watch.

But no.

"Aw, come on! Really? Again?"

Did the TV really hate him or something?

For the people who signed up for this the brainy types to try and figure out why the TV seems to hate rich kids! By taking it apart and putting it back together again!

Seriously now, TV. Gross.

"Anyone have any objections to taking this thing apart?" Because if not, there were wires to play with, and Topher enjoyed wires. And making the TV not show exercise. Because come on.

If by 'objections' you mean 'already got a mini tool kit out for the job', then yes. Tony strongly 'objected'.

"It could be worse," he said, picking out his favorite screwdriver. Yes, he had one. "Could be stuck on porn."

And he apparently couldn't help but tease poor Topher.

Then he held some wires aside to provide easier access for screwdriving, because he was a great friend like that.

"Tony's Ratman DVD is porn?" Victor asked, already sinking to the floor next to them. Because clearly the two geniuses needed help.

He reached out, trying to sense anything unique about the TV that could be fixed with his powers, and got nothing but static. A lot of static. Looked like the thing was too old for him to work with in anything but a standard way.

"He made Billy and Warren and me watch it," Topher shared, voice slightly muffled as he ducked his head to sift through the wires in search of something useful-looking to disconnect. "But that was at least on a laptop. I think this is the TV that dinosaurs watched."

"It's up there," Victor agreed, with just a slight sidelong glance at Tony about the concept of well-made porn. "I think the Professor put it together out of coconut parts."

He reached in to part two wires, frowning as his hand came back covered in dust. "Also, they like never clean back here."

Victor snickered. "Look at it this way," he offered. "If we had a Stark TV, we wouldn't be having this fantastic bonding experience."

He poked at the innards some more, found a loose connection. "Is there a Philips head over there?"

"Hey, we could always make a project of seeing how much damage a Stark TV has to take before it breaks," Topher suggested, unscrewing something that could be a speaker. "Toss it down the stairs outside, maybe blast it with a gauntlet..."

Victor retrieved the screwdriver he wanted, set to work tightening connection he was worried about.

"What, so we could prove we can break a really good TV?" he asked. "... but the gauntlet thing might be sort of cool."

And lo, Victor offered a screwdriver, then leaned far enough back to talk to Jessica.

"Yeah, but everything looks kind of broken. Also the whole thing smells like crispy dust bunnies."

"Yeah, but if we replace all of the broken stuff with an arc reactor, a supervillain's going to end up trying to take over the world with our TV," Jessica pointed out. "And because this is Fandom, the villain will probably be made out of those dust bunnies."

"Speaking of which, that dust bunny looks shifty. I suggest fixing the piece it seems to be staring at."
